Blackwood track conversion

    I'm getting the same as TIG. This track performs worse than Silverstone. I would love to run this online someday, but not until performance is on par with other tracks as I don't want to exclude others unnecessarily because performance. I am sure there is help available here if you want it. If you decided to keep as is, then unfortunately this track will be sidelined. Your call. Appreciate the effort so far, but can't use as is.

    lets start some performance optimations.
    Would be great if you help me to set the optimum performance

    > So, please tell me how much frames do you have with Blackwood f.e., Silverstone and f.e. another track you want to set as reference, exactly at startpoint with 16 opponents. at 2pm. I would like to compare it, with my fps and how far I am from a target.
    Please also tell me your display settings.

    Then I test some possibilities (switch off groups of objects) to find out the best performance. (Im still learning making tracks)

    Sounds good. Doing it now. Please stand by...

    Edit - OK. At start. 16 AI. I am at back of grid. 2pm. Circuit, player, opponent, texture detail, special effects and shadows are all medium. Texture filter = Bilinear. Mirrors on. Everything else off. Second number is same settings, except circuit, player, opponent and texture detail on full.

    Blackwood GP = 21 fps, 21 fps*
    Silverstone = 33, 20**
    Malaysia = 42, 29
    Sebring = 31, 31*
    Zolder 79 = 41, 41*
    Hidden valley = 42, 42*
    Hockenheim = 38, 38*
    Palm beach = 39, 30
    Pukekohe park 2013 = 32, 32*
    Texas world speedway 2.9 CCW = 33, 33*

    * Full fps = medium fps

    ** Silverstone texture detail = high b/c high = full at other tracks

    Only ISI tracks in my list appear to be utilizing detail settings.

    Did my own test too, practice session on 4 different tracks:

    First my settings: View attachment 8827 View attachment 8828

    I had 16 AI drivers, mirrors on, no private practice, starting time 2 PM

    Blackwood GP: pit: 32, avg: 39 , low: 24 , high: 60, mainly between 30-49 (occasional stuttering, mainly drivable)

    Silverstone: pit: first 60 but then when AI got on track some drops to 46-55 , avg: 50 , low: 41 , high: 60, mainly between 47-55 (smooth)

    Topeka full: pit: 60 , avg: 60 , low: 50 , high: 61, mainly steady 60 (smooth)

    LRP all chicanes: pit: 47-61 (avg 55) , avg:51 , low:44 , high: 61, mainly between 47-58 (smooth)


    I would be happy with the fps level Silverstone has.

    I think most community made tracks/conversion gives me over 50 fps on avarage also when enviroment reflections is on.

    Like TIG, I can also say that Blackwood performance also less smooth than other tracks. Hopefully someone here has experience with solving for that and can offer some tips?

    Forgot to mention I did the test with ISI Corvette, if that matters.

    ok, very nice looking track !
    I got some 2 or 3 frames more with V1.2 but I am still racing with 23 fps in a small field of AI (7) on start/finish = Unakzeptable

    remembers me to the problems with Mills on the first builds in january last year.... something is done wrong with this track.

    The track definitely looks great. Wish I could help figure out the framerate issues.

    not to be a party pooper but I a getting 50fps at BW and Silverstone, so its more hardware related from the looks, I am running an alienware laptop I bought last year so not the latest but recent hardware.

    My wish list for a future update would be a better track surface texture like silverstone, would make the track perfect imo

    I guess you didn't read previous posts then. Of course you get better fps with better hardware. I could even argue that you have some hardware problems when you get only the same fps in Silverstone than in Blackwood. The point was that the performance here are significantly lower than on other tracks (even on demanding tracks). For most of us. Nothing WRONG with my hardware, only not to up to date, but I'm not wishing for anything special...just decent over 50 fps and no stuttering

    Is it just me or does the AI slow down at the start/finish line? I can only really try it out later.

    I agree the performance of Blackwood is not as high as I would like to (compared to other tracks).
    I tested Blackwood on many computers. The fps are low, but high enough to enjoy driving.
    But I haven't found the reasons yet. May be the track is to detailed.
    The diagrams shows a comparison of performance with included fps values of Galaga

    with Malaysia as 100% Blackwood has about 50% performance.

    With my next Track I try to improve performance more effectly.
    Despite the low fps I hope you enjoy driving as I do.

    I don't know about your proficiency with modding, but you could as around here for means of optimization. There are some very skilled people visiting these forums and i'm sure they would be very eager to help out. Keep up the good work.
