Why would weekly builds be chaos? Works very well with pCars. One update for everything every week. Not rocket science. Testing bugs is why we're here.

    1) pCars is in Alpha
    2) weekly builds would be hurtful for succesful league racing
    3) community split with people not updating every week
    4) bandwidth limitations for some people meaning a download each week is out the question
    5) "Testing bugs is why we're here." - please explain that, do you test bugs for every game you play!?!

rF2 is not beta anymore, so we're not supposed to be 'testing bugs'.

Weekly builds is too much I think... It's a bit hassle to reinstall, if you're doing a clean install everytime, like me. But it's been too long now.

All valid points, but as is pointed out whenever someone (wrongly) suggests cars and tracks be put on hold in favour of fixing bugs / implementing features, the programmers and content-makers are different people. So while cars and tracks are fine, the programmers have been busy doing something since the last build but haven't yet arrived at a state they can release.

And if that's the case then that's fine, not much we (or they) can do about it, but it's quite a while...

I guess people are getting a bit impatient given the length of time the game has been in development and the lack of progress in some areas.

Next Monday something will happen. I've got a good feeling about this.

Say what Hedlund.. Regardless of game, alpha, beta, zulu or whoop-de-doo, all games still get bug tested, bugs reported etc. Poor example but I will use it, Take BF3 with updates. They patched problems that were found along the way, some patches may have made it worse than the previous but still 'fixes' that they made.

If I had a choice I would like to have no updates. All I need is just finished sim :).

Sometimes I think that people live from update to update and the best day for them is when something is released, they are excited for few days, and then get back again to normal awaiting-for-a-new-build day ;)

I miss old times when games were finished at first release.

    RF2 shipped in a ROM cartridge! ;)

I am happy the way it is - RF2 will never be finished but continuously gets improved for a long time till it gets abandoned, cause it is a simulation and therefore the goal is to get as close to reality (which is not reachable, only improvable). And I'm happy with the new improved GT1 and 370z, they feel so much better.

@ marcg 2) weekly builds would be hurtful for successful league racing. It is all ready hurtful with the damage system, but we run a league anyway but do agree 1 update a month is fine like it has been till they actually market it then i would say it would be mod and league ready to a stage that ISI is happy.

Yeah that was kind of my point, just pointing out that it's not like nothing has happened. With a bit of luck the longer wait will see some major issues addressed. :)

It has been said that new releases would be made at the beginning of a week (monday or tuesday) if no problems have been found during a last week-end of testing.
Considering the last Jeremy's tweet, it could be next monday or tuesday.

Matti Nykänen said it best: tomorrow is always future! Maybe he learned it by visiting our local pub on two consecutive days. The pub has a sign on the front door with text "tomorrow free beer!" :)
