    I would love to know if ISI are still working on the Tire model and the base physics engine ?

    Are there likely to be fundamental changes in the tire model from now on , or is it more a case of tweaking the cars and making them feel better / behave more naturally ?

    Keep up the good work !

    WIP on the Tire Model- but what they have now is an amazing feat in itself!
    Have you pushed the tire so much yet you feel the tire start to wobble and vibrate? awesome job so far!

    I'm intrigued about which features of the tyre model are actually working at the moment (in build 90) TBH I haven't really pushed the tyres to see what happen when they completely give out, but have seen flatspots which to my mind seem only visual at this stage?

    Good question, this list of known issues are still actual, and its from january:
    ==========
    -Contact patch load distribution model is not final, which means tire pressure does not have the full effect that it should.
    -Aquaplaning is not implemented, so wet weather driving is only properly modelled when the track is damp but with no standing water.
    -Wear (meaning both abrasion and degradation) is incomplete in several aspects.
    -There are other relatively minor loose ends.
    -Curbs, white lines have almost no grip in rain

    So i hope developement in that section hasn't interrupted or even stopped.
    Woud be nice to get some updated news about. :)

    I disagree, you can flat spot them at the moment and come to a halt and watch it gradually dissapear. I hope this will be further worked on as mistreating your tyres in such a way should be felt in the FFB heavilly (50 pence piece scenario,obviously depends on car and tyre)

    Also I find it strange how drying lines is fully dynamic yet rubber being laid down is not. I tried running a different line down straight for 10+ laps and nothing, meanwhile the pit entrance which has hardly been used is heavily rubbered in (ppl pressing esc).

    I am really enjoying rf2 and find it very difficult to go back to rf1 as its just doesnt feel as good, but do I hope these couple of things are just work in progress and will develop further! :)

    I can feel the flat spot's on tyres as vibrations in the steering wheel, especially in F-ISI.

    I also tried the realroad feature, and for me it was truly dynamic. Maybe there where some KI-drivers at the same time on track on your test.

    Slightly off topic,but tyre delamination would be a cool effect.

    I googled tire delamination and didn't find much about it. What is it exactly?

    Hi CdnRacer

    It's basically were the tyre rips it's self apart after getting a puncture,like you see on the modern F1 cars.
    Sorry it's the only way i could think of to explain it.hope it helps.

    [h=3]Delamination[/h]
    Delamination is the process where the tyre through various possible reasons separates into its component parts. Running for a considerable time in an underinflated or overloaded condition is the single largest cause of tyre delamination. The most common example is seen on the side of the motorways in the UK where you can see the tread sections of both truck and car tyres on the hard shoulder.This is usually due the tyre suffering a slow deflation and the losing pressure until the volume of air inside the tyre is insufficient to carry the loads and stresses placed upon it. As the tyre pressure drops the build up of heat within the casing leads to delamination and the component parts separate.

    Delamination with those bits of rubber remaining on the track would be cool, if not then they fade away like the skidmarks currently do.

    plus not to mention the Damage caused by a delaminated tire ;)
