Hello, I have the same worries. Glass not clear. So the worst is that by entering into onfline, it keeps me out of the game by the escape key. I am forced to exit through CTRL ALT DEL. So I removed the skin folder and all works again. Bye
Tim, could you please confirm - DDS should be saved as a... DXT5 (ARGB with interpolated Alpha) not as a... DXT1 (ARGB with 1-bit Alpha) TIA.
Yes and no Yes, the screenshots posted are from a whole pack, so including .veh files and all. Reason is that I had those screenshots online already. When I make a skin, I test it until it's finished by placing it in the same folders as the rest . Not making a whole pack for every test, as that's to much work obvious. It does not matter in results if you use the skins in a pack, or as an ALT. The displayed car is the same, and the present bugs are there at both tests.
Just have a look at the original Nissan GTR skins: car #00: dxt3 with explicit alpha, 12 mipmaps car #02: dxt5 with interpolated alpha, 12 mipmaps That's what I tried for my skins but it didn't work. With dxt1 (alpha / no alpha) the windows are still painted with the skin but the livery has a greyscale chrome look.
Oops... I posted on this topic here... was searching on slightly differing syntax, hence I've only just found this hidden here. Sorry. Here is the post, Mods.. please merge: http://isiforums.net/f/showthread.php/4920-BUG-Vehicle-Skinning-Whole-skin-appears-in-the-windshield with this
Use this one. I reworked the template and added a new alpha. https://rapidshare.com/files/2799895260/ISIMegane.rar
This is true. Also most want open in Gimp, Paintshop Pro or Paint.net. They have features that are Photoshop compatible only. It's not like everyone has Photoshop at $1500.00 a shot. I have been through all the templates to fix all these issues plus the templates themselves have had all the empty layers removed, A lot of layers have been merge. These layers are areas that are common to the cars look so are not regularly painted but still can be if you so choose. I haven't bothered with the rest because for one the lack of response for the Megane template and the lack of people complaining they can't use the templates in the programs they have. I just take it that everyone has Photoshop and aren't having trouble opening them in layered format. If that's the case then either Adobe is making a fortune or their missing out big time having their product so expensive people are going down the other road to acquire it.
View attachment 2216 The Z370 and all Meganes have the same problem with the white Headlights. No matter if HDR is enabled or disabled. Somebody know the reason yet?
Yep, Same thing here since the 69 update. Not worried about it. The ISI crew are aware of it and it'll be fix in a update sooner or latter. It just doesn't make for great screenshots but makes no different to the way you drive it.
Still trying to get this resolved. My install paths are: D:\rfactor2\ D:\rfactor2\data I am using PhotoShop CS4 But even guys who use the default path are having problems. Marco, can you confirm templates are working okay for your carsets? If yes, specifically which cars? Did you have to modify the ISI templates? Our group is trying to do a colorful set of Nissan GTRs to run on the VLM tracks as a new rfmod, and we're getting stuck on the template skins. If anyone is inclined to look at the files, we'd appreciate it: http://www.simhq.net/downloads/motorsports/rfactor2/GT1_dds_files.zip (62 MB) http://www.simhq.net/downloads/motorsports/rfactor2/GT1_source_psd.zip (238 MB)
guod, your skins are painted correctly. (The IBM logos are from a windshield mod i have made, i couldn't be bothered to put the original back just for a quick test.) The files i downloaded above are named incorrectly though. For an example : alt02.dds should actually be named NGTR_02ALT.dds You will still get the skin in the windshield problem though if you put them in the location stated by ISI documentation. In the NissanGTR .mas file, there are only 3 entries for NissanGTR skins : NGTR_00.dds NGTR_02.dds NGTR_02ALT.dds Currently naming your skins anything other than the above will not show in game ( Not sure about making a NGTR_00ALT.dds, i haven't tried this yet ). EDIT : NGTR_00ALT.dds, doesn't show in game, i just tried it. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the templates from ISI. The problem is arising currently from the game calling the skins incorrectly ( In my opinion ).
Thanks for downloading, taking a look and your feedback. Hope this move up on the list of "to do's" soon.
