    I already posted this in the modding section but after some testing the problem was similar with the Meganes too:

    This skin:
    [IMG]
    DDS, dxt5, 12 mipmaps (just like the original "red" GTR1, number 02), placed in my \UserData\player\Settings\NissanGTR folder

    appears ingame like this:

    [IMG]

    [IMG]

    The skin seems to be pasted onto the windscreen, and at the front there is some strange area I can't discover on the template.

    The same happened when I placed the M2009_01.DDS in my \UserData\player\Settings\NissanGTR folder, renamed it to M2009_04ALT.DDS so it became an alternate skin for car #4. Still the same problem.

    Hope you can help ... :confused:

    Thanks, with real liveries the Nissan starts to look good. :D
    However the skin also seems to be mapped to the driver suit and helmet:

    Having this same problem....I know the GT mod was released with some graphical problems, would have been nice if we'd have been given a list of them and not have to spend 3 days trying to figure out what we're doing wrong and it turns out we weren't doing anything wrong.

    Has anyone been able to add custom skins yet to any of the cars and have them work okay on-track?

    Okay, cool. So the Meganes works! To do the multi colored set, did you use alt1, alt2, under one car number, or assign multiple cars a group of alt numbers?

    @Guod,
    This is a skinpack, so an update to the current Megane series installed. Each car has it's own dedicated skin, and .veh file. Further, the 60's F3's work flawless as well :)

    @Paarma,
    Yes, this is an issue with build 69.
    This is the same skin, displayed in build 60 and in 69.

    It's a bug, but as I'm the only person in the test group to have had it, I don't think they've been able to reproduce it. When I sent my skin to others, it works fine. So let's get our system infos together, our paths and settings and see if we can find something...

    My System is in my profile.
    I install to the default paths on Windows 7.
    I save the files obviously in a way that works for others using my skins.

    Thanks for the reply ...
    My system is in my profile.
    I installed rfactor2 to c:\rfactor2, data is stored in c:\rfactor2\rf2data, so I placed the Nissan-skins in C:\rFactor2\rf2data\UserData\player\Settings\NissanGTR. Maybe the different paths are causing problems ...

    I will make a GT skin as well to test.

    @Tim,
    What happens if you do a second install, in different folders? Do you get the same results then? I see you used default locations, and I know Windows 7 can have some administrative issues in the Program Files folder.

    I Have been playing with a GTR skin today and had some strange results.

    First i just created a basic skin with a single colour painted over it and saved it as a dds file but got the window issue, i then re-saved it as a 1.5.5.5 DDS File with 6 MIP Maps and that resulted in a skin with windows you can see through, although i have noticed the rear window has a faint copy of the template on it but the front and sides are OK.

    After having that success i created a full skin with sponsorship decals and team logo saved it in the same format as the previous one and bang the window thing is back.

    My specs are in my profile and I'm using the default rFactor install folders

    C:\Program Files\rFactor2 (Core Install)
    C:\Documents and Settings\Ian\My Documents\rFactor2 (User Data)

    Just one other thing i have noticed, the tyres keep disappearing off the car in the showroom (via the tuning screen)

    What is the correct settings for the DDS file, is it supposed to be DTX5 with 6 MIP maps or something else?

    I'm not putting anything into program files. Skins go into Documents.

    That issue looks like a different one to the window bug, and I think that horizontal one is a known issue... I have perfect skins, just overlayed windows.

    Window bug here too.

    Folders:
    E:\Games\rFactor2
    E:\Games\rFactor2\UserData

    Skins in (example for Megane) -> E:\Games\rFactor2\UserData\player\Settings\Meganes2009

    btw.
    I don't think Marco make just normal Skins. Looks to me more like a new or updated Mod with complete cars (veh, dds, etc.)
    but thats not the solution i am looking for...
