It is really a wise thing to replace if it has changed, too bad I can't do it for some very odd reason what ever that is.
Wish I could help, I'm using 2012 and it works fine. You are using the latest gmotor tools right? When I copied the coreshaders.mas over I also copied over the apropriate plugins even though they didn't look like they had changed.
yeah, guessing you need to update your plugins too. Mine works fine with new coreshaders. Seems like they did some work to address specular issues, but it still doesnt look right in my opinion, but thats for a different thread all together. As far as reflections, yeah, they are all messed up in game. The spinner show's my cube map fine, but at Joesville its makes the reflection look like the paint is a matte color, and the reflections don't move. Its not really even a picture, its just like a color.
Yep updating plugins solved it! Thanks guys About the Joesville, it was addressed elsewhere that Joesville is not up to the newest beta and thus reflections and other shaders not working correctly. I have version Belgium track in my devmode, and there things work normally. But for this build 68/69 I had to darken all my alpha layers that control cube reflection because the shader is more brighter or something now.
I didn't really copy/paste anything else except coreshaders from build 68 and it worked well for me in 3ds max 2010.. does the build 69 have any updates for coreshaders and plugins?
Nothing has changed considering this issue. The Joesville currently is completely useless, but I have copied Belgium from single player mode to devmode and I sometimes use that. I also have my own custom tracks for other testing purposes.
Considering that Joesville is the ONLY devmode map included and that reflections are a requirement of car modding, I can only suggest this come somewhere near TOP of the list. If you are not planning an update soon, could you provide us with a workaround for this. Cant see my tacho. View attachment 2134 If I wanted to mess about with my cars shader, it's not so useful. we've been having trouble importing ISI tracks to Dev Mode. the tracks other people build seem to port right in. but the ISI tracks with the correct settings don't show up. I haven't checked rfm though cuz the tracks I want already work.
Tried that, no luck, just another time consuming hurdle. I'm here to make vehicles, why spoil a build in that way?? please could you point me to a good tutorial on how to 'import' another track for now.
Ah silly me, yes, now i've flipped the logo my reflections are working perfectly... could'nt resist....but yes thanks..
I am having trouble viewing my materials in DevMode (build 69) At first I thought it was a Material ID problem but the reflection seems to be working fine. Also the hood material is the exact same material as assigned to the body so I cannot work out why it would turn out black. Any clues?? Cheers PS: It happens on my desktop (nvidia GT8600, Windows 7) and also on my laptop (ATI 5600/5700, Windows 7). Model created in Max2010 using current ISI tools.
