It's been talked about in other parts of the forum and I know it's getting looked into, but since it is a wish and it's not in here yet, some of us would like to have that support to become more immersed into the rFactor2 environment/cockpit. Thanks!
The devs are including this, they've already mentioned that they had a problem that the TrackIR plugin wouldn't compile in this build for some reason. I'm sure it will be ready for release if not before.
It is senseless without TrackIR for me! I'm using TrackIR for over 5 years in my Flightsims and of course in rFactor and GTR2/GTL. I really really really want/need this. TrackIR gives you more than 100% more freedom, you dont need to waste keys for looking around etc!!!
This is a beta that is going to last six months and has been out a week. The devs have already said they are putting it in. Are your family and pets in danger if you don't get it in the next 2 minutes?
Maybe one reason it's not in yet is the work on animated arms/hands not wanting to play along with the immersive effect. I can just imagine one being able to see the ends of one's arms, since they probably don't move with effect, but wouldn't it be awesome if the animation would move with eyesight/headmovement, or does it already?
Thanks for replying Tim, waiting here patiently and not totally expecting it in the first few monthly? updates, But it sure would be nice! Scott
Thats really great ! But factracknoir v 1.7?? Does it work with 1.6 also, I guess yes. Do you mind share your settings for rfactor2 , that would be really great. Greets Modmate
Likely what he is doing is using the new mouselook feature that was put in 1.6 I believe. So what you would do, is: 1. Setup facetracknoir for mouse look 2. Assign key for start/stop tracking 3. In game assign key for free look (basically mouselook) 4. start practice/race etc 5. start face tracking (using assigned key) - alt tab seems to crash game for me so use key assignment instead. 6. turn on freelook in game (you will likely notice you need to do quite a bit of tuning within facetracknoir to get it to move like you want it 7. enjoy Remember to stop tracking when you around out of the car, because the face track with control your mouse cursor. You will likely want to set an assigned key for zeroing the tracking because I find it can loose calibration at times.
Actually, using the Virtual Joystick (PPJoy) Protocol and have assigned the 12 movements inside rFactor2. This works also with FaceTrackNoIR v1.6beta, too. I've been somewhat beta (alpha) testing FaceTrackNoIR for a while now and that's why you see v1.7 at the top of that window. I will try to add my FaceTrackNoIR .ini settings to the video by the end of the day. Scott
That would be great. I will have a look for that tonight! Did you do much of tweaking to the curves inside tacetracknoir? Greets
I believe I did have to do some tweaking to my rF1 FaceTrackNoIR setup to work in rF2, maybe because of the difference in the protocol setting, not sure.
The most important thing is that it works. Since the Trackir plugin is not yet implemented its great. Maybe you can up your ini right here so we can both have a look into it? Just if you like to, if you like to get it finished first its great. You still use these? http://img715.imageshack.us/img715/8083/rfactorfacetracknoirrev.jpg Greets
Forgot to mention that these settings will most likely change again when TrackIR is supported by rF2.
Nice, will try these . Finally got the Virtua Joystick runnin under win7 x64. Will try it later and give response if i got it to work. Thx so far Scott Greets
Hi, I`ve tried several things now and Virtua Joystick is working fine. My problem, wich mappings do you use for the Virtua Joystick and within rfactor 2? I go crazy, i use a wheel for sure wich usually uses the X and Y axes , so now if i look right i brake..lol No problem i thought, but honestly i dont get it . Use a Ps3 eyecam btw.. A little hint would be great since the camera also use these axes.. Greets EDIT: Got a bit more now.Use the controller2 to edit all values and set up - Left, right,up down. What do i need to setup now to get the whole "freeview". Since now its not a panorama view, its just left or right , so bad.
