Open Beta This Week?

I'm curious how close to real rules this will be (probably not so close ). I was at spa-francorchamps last year with the World Series by Renault, and followed it a bit on tv. Apperently they have two different 'setups'. A low-downforce configuration for one race (I believe saturday) and a normal configuration for the other race (sunday?). Also it would be nice if you could have two or more races per race weekend. Most, or all classes (don't know for sure) of the World Series by Renault have 2 races per weekend.

Maybe I'm starting to be a little too curious right know The wait is getting harder every day. I WANT IT SO BAD but then again, I'm sure it will be worth the wait in the end

 

can you buy the open-beta with the Lifetime Membership?

I mean: isi own servers, megaupload/fileserve/..., torrent...?

Seems obvious enough. Otherwise it would say:

1 licensed 1966 F1 car, with generic fillers, Renault Megane, Formula Renault 3.5
6 tracks: Spa, Monaco, Malaysia, Portugal, Mills and another.


Not even for a moment I thought that it will be 3 cars and 6 tracks, but seems like many people did, so that "or" should really be there to avoid confusion.

 

I'm curious about that as well.
If I had the option right from the start, I'd go for the "once in a lifetime" fee, if this is still considered as an option by Gjon that is.
I sure hope it is.

 

I think he just wanted to separate old stuff (classic F1's and classic tracks) and the current ones. So yes, 6 tracks, plus 3 cars and some "grid fillers" as he said for the classic F1s.

 

View attachment 322 This image attached shows a number of cars. Is there a car list floating around here somewhere which indicates the cars in the full release version? Will the modding community be able to build "ground up" rFactor2 cars and tracks in lieu of converting the rF1 versions?

Tim...What about the Mods? We need to buy the beta in full price of the Game, so in fact we bought the game and I see this is open for Modders to create for us tracks and cars.

 

Not even for a moment I thought that it will be 'or'.
ISI has been talking about 'packages', so car and tracks together.
There will be a historic package and a current package.
I can't find where, but I remember Tim saying some time ago the beta will include some historic and current content, so we could taste both.

He's said the most important thing they'll be testing/fixing (and wanting feedback on) is the modding systems - which would presumably include the whole 'release' part of it. So it seems very likely people being able to mod, and release mods, will happen in the beta.

Unless they disable it somehow, of course (but it's a beta... so if that's what it is and you don't like it, don't buy it )

 

I also understand that this open beta will be dedicated to modders rather than simdrivers. With modders help some things will be improved and definitely it is stage to help modders to understand how to build mods for the new system

 

I'm much more interested in the Megane than the GTR so I think this was a great choice.

But the real highlight of this beta will be lapping Mills in the FR3.5!

 

less than 15 days..... less than 360 hours...... less than 21,600 minutes..... less than 1,296,000 seconds.

 

We have seen in the RF2 family renders that there's an IndyCar-type open wheeler with an oval wing, and very early we saw screenshots of an early version of 'Charlotte' Motor Speedway, so i'm a little disappointed that we wont be seeing any oval racing in the beta.

Really interested to see how ISI have overhauled that

when does the 18 months start, when you get the beta, or when rF2 is released.?
what happens if we have the beta for 6 months, and the clock it ticking? you get the same amount of time as people that waited for the release, 12 months.... to be fair the time shouldn't start until the release of rF2..
