There is more to training than just letting the AI run laps. I tried to find the link here for a thread that covers AI training, but ran out of time. Dig around and hopefully you'll have better luck than I did. ah, here it is, somebody liked it and I was able to find it. Thanks. https://forum.studio-397.com/index.php?threads/missing-dlc-tutorial.62565/
About AI level. I tried the new Laguna last night, with GTE's and its about the same, AI is at same level as Donnington and Brands. Could it be that its the same guy who have done the aiw's etc. for all three tracks and somehow just put the 100% level too low?
Try forcing your set up for a.i on both touring cars ( gears, tyres engine mix ect) I managed to get the a.i to do 1:30s at brands.
Do you all turn off ABS TC? BTCC should have no abs. It would be better if there is a factory setting on abs and tc.
I noticed the Infiniti has a pretty high caster angle... this causes the steering to have a pretty snappy self alinging force. You can't lower the caster by much, but maybe give it a try.
I've been trying the fantastic Toyota for a long time, and I realized that unlike the other cars in RF2, the latter stops if I turn the steering all the way to the left or right at a certain point, is it possible that it has so little steering?
Err no. https://www.btcc.net/calendar-2/ We were talking about Donington, not Brands Hatch Anyway, I'm really enjoying the cars. They're a good challenge. Smooth is definitely the way.
Sorry I'm going to be a bit lazy and not research this myself... but can someone tell me what a good laptime is IRL and in sim for Donnington in the Infinity?
2021 - Ashley Sutton qualified with a 1'09.493 on the short circuit His fatest laps in the races R1 = 1'09.712 - R2 = 1'09.570 - R3 = 1'09.846 as far as I can establish Fastest for each Q = 1'08.994 - Gordon Sheddon R1 = 1'09.712 - Ashley Sutton R2 = 1'09.524 - Colin Turkington R3 = 1'09.499 - Colin Turkington Slowest times for comparison Q = 1'10.692 R1= 1'11.456 R2 = 1'10.997 R3 = 1'11.085 27 cars on the grid and the whole field covered by less than 2 seconds. The 2022 cars might be as much as 0.5 seconds quicker
I did run the AI training program by the way and it made no difference. I can easily lap half a second per lap quicker than the AI at brands Indy on 120% AI strength. My fastest is a 47.7, the next fastest is 48.3 Anyone know what else can be done as I just can't have a good race here with that? They are also extremely slow off the line. I have all driver aids off as well. It's a track specific thing I think because I ran 120% Ai at Silverstone national and could manage only 10th of 23 in qually. Have assigned my setup to the AI as well
Tyre Rules and Regulations 2021 Drivers have the option to use soft and medium tyres at Snetterton, Croft, Oulton Park, Knockhill and Croft due to recent circuit resurfacing. Medium compounds will be used at Brands Indy, Silverstone, Donington and Brands GP - whilst hard is the only option for Thruxton.
