Not much these days***, today only some details for the tires. View attachment 6106 *** Carneval in Germany/Cologne - "Allaf"
Amasing details, maybe to detailed for this kinda games? Just guesing but i think the tire/rim has more than usual rf2 cars
This model is looking great, but yea I get the feeling any more than 4 or 5 of these on track would give my computer a heart attack
@Ales @Foxtrot Yes guys, you are absolutely right, but any time I read this arguments I answer the same: These highPoly model are the base for creating differnt kind of maps and reduction of meshes to any game engine with their own specifications. (keyword: LOD's) I persue the goal to create a model the best way I can and with most details my modeler eye will recognize. All these data will be found in the final game model and textures!
Good answer LODs are keys for sure but I allready have to add them and they are visible, just saying from experience Just saying example youre Lod1 is for example 1million polys if you want to add this one to the game, how many will you add? Or youre doing like you sayed fully detailed model, than you will do lets say 10 lods and 1 is the highest, than you will use on track lods from 7-10 for example beein from 30k tris to lets say 2k tris?
@Ales Right! Lod1, I call it LodX, is for sure only for render situation or something like that. The aircraft I build in the past, the Dornier Do-X(link) and the Ju52, for example was part of a show and in a lower Lod, part in a flight simulator. Most of the developers build a model for a game/simulator, - not me - , my goal is to build the model and then the mesh for the game! You know what I mean! - Sorry for my bumpy english.
@weimaraner, interesting. I never build cars this way but sounds interesting, allmost every Lod can be used than basicly for what ever reason, a game, animation and so on...just depends what details are needed there. Btw planes are amasing, really, especially i love WWII like the P-38 or F4U.
push the limit. As long as I can drive one, it's all good to me. But remember, from the interior view, I can't see them wheels. So I say focus on a beautiful, true to life interior. Make that just as nice as the tires, and you got something cool here.
my english is tedious (google translate) but I love old cars and will like to see your page and continue your work - I can financially afford it, but not me
With a great lack of information I build the bottomside of the model 'Bügelfalte' totaly wrong! See the last picture in post #16 A friend of mine and great photographer makes some detailed pictures for me at BMW museum last weekend, so the new information will be integrated into my next underside build.
