hi all im new here, im looking into getting rfactor, a custom pc and g27 setup . the pc im looking at has the following spec atm Asrock G41M-VS3 R2.0 mother board 2 x4GB ram sticks == 8GB Q6600 2.4GHz quad core CPU 750WATT PSU 1TB HDD 2 x DVDRW-DL NVidea GeForce 8800GTS GPU running windows 7 will this be good enough?
It would do a pretty good job with most rFactor content. Some of the more recent mods/tracks might slow it down a bit, since they tend to be scaled to take advantage of more modern GPUs. But everything else there is fine (I doubt 8GB would be any better than 4, dual core would probably be as good for rFactor as quad...)
thanks for the reply, so i may need to upgrade the graphics card for some mods? yeah the pc already has 8gb in it but 4gb ram would probably be enough, off topic is there somewhere i can view all the mods/tracks? i havent bought the game yet as i dont have the g27 or the pc but think i will go get the pc tommorow then order the g27
madmcivor, I think we need to be sure here about if you are asking about rFactor or rFactor2 since you are new to the forum (but may not be new to the community). So are you indeed asking about rFactor(1) specs? Or, can someone verify whether those specs will run rFactor2? Scott
Sorry madmcivor, I forgot to answer your last question about if there is a location to view all the mods/tracks for rFactor(1), I think the best place for this is at rFactor Central. Scott
I used to run an 8800GT on a Core 2 Duo E6420 and was able to max out everything accept shadows which I ran one click down and also had shadow blur disabled. There were only a few tracks that would drop below 60fps. One that comes to mind is Long Beach. That track has tons of shadows.
