    Don't offend me Hex.........

    lool

You right and without reviewers at least willing to give a honest appraisal from both points of view ( Graphics/models vs Physics/Race-ability ) they not worth the paper they written on.

Developers don't help either, go back read some of the first pCARS and AC "flowery" press releases.

Thank goodness ISI does not get caught up in dramatics.

    ---------------

Hey I just noticed something, Assetto Corsa cars when you rev engine they do nothing ? No shake rattle and roll ? lol

I overshot Parabolica on purpose in the Lotus49 and pull up in the middle of the sandtrap so easy !
Even the F3 in rF2 you struggle to stop by the bank. lol

Why don't they put that in their reviews. :p

    Wow!... just wow!
You guys are disappointing me every time I come here lately.
Why do the 'stupid' comparisons have to continuously come up?
Drive the one you like and stop the 'slagging' of other people's work.
Jesus guys! It's time to stop these silly and destructive comparisons.
    Today's simracing is truly fractured.
You really don't have to be this critical of one for the other to exist.

Yep 6 hours on the practice server yesterday, probably 6 more today, all for a 1 hour league race tonight. And the result of those 12 odd hours.... set up tweaks have made my tyres last a little longer and I shaved 5 or 6 tenths off my personal best.
Yes I class myself as a sim racer. A dying breed. For me its a competitive sport, a serious hobby, you only have to look at the price of some sim equipment. Look at how much money f1 and motorsports teams in general invest in simulators and software.
I hate it when somebody refers to rF2 as a game, I am not a gamer, its an advanced piece of simulation softwarre in constant development.
Forza 4 for pc does not interest me, nor do story modes, cut scenes, auto pits, championship careers etc
Racing against other sim racers from across the globe with proper race settings, flag rules, aero damage, tyre wear, etc etc etc and as long as isi keep adding the things that make it a simulator I am content.

Why don't you stop slagging off people don't worry about your other precious sims .

What Hex and I said is directly relevant to why we don't have more " sim racers " in rF2.

Show me a honest review about rF2 superior physics, I dare you ?

No one can write a intelligent review even, sheesh.

What you do not think they are superior ? well more the foolhardy you, I am sorry.

Better then slagging off rF2. lol

Critical ? lol no more then all the people here that have bagged rF2 for years, their own sim.

    P.S.

Lastly if you don't like what I write don't read the frakker !@!

Besides I was talking to Hex.

Comparisons only cause **** fights that simple.
Maybe it's all the console guys coming to PC where real sim racing is and find it to hard and walk away. IMHO also some ppl just think it's to hard and they were the 1's complaining about sim racing not being real enough. PMSL
    You cannot pls every1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Wait!
    What?
My comment is not specifically directed at you.
It is directed at the simracing community in general.
Where the hell do you get off attacking my post directly.
    I'm simply stating the obvious.
All sims can co-exist without folks 'downing' one over the other.
That type of behavior is destructive to the sim-racing community as a whole.
I never make critical comparisons in print.
Do I know they exist? YES.
Remember...it's not what you say...it's HOW you say it.
You've been here for a very long time.
You certainly know what is destructive and what is not.
It a bit disappointing to see you engage in this.

I wonder why anyone thinks the "sim racer" is a dying breed?

It's certainly not a train of thought I would subscribe to in the slightest!

With the addition of sims to services such as steam, the popularity of Twitch, the innumerable amount of YouTube videos..... Any given sim has a reach it could not of dreamed of just 10 years a go.

Even through my modest community, almost weekly, I'm doing my best to inform newcomers to the pros and cons of all sims.

It wouldn't do for us all to be the same, not all of us can swear by one sim or another.

People will always have opinions, sometimes right, sometimes wrong, sometimes simply misinformed, sometimes just a troll or fanboy.

Instead of pointless comparisons and dick measuring contests, how about people try to be more welcoming and objective with the information they provide?

Three and a half years a go I was a console racer and would have sworn blind Forza was the most realistic simulation known to man.

It took the right information and guidance to educate me otherwise.

There's no dying breed of sim racers. There's just more people around being vocal and elitists or fanboys slagging others off for not being like them.

Its the same discussion over and over, for eternity. whether its rf2 vs iracing vs ac. or COD vs Battlefield, Virtua Fighter vs Tekken.
    It all boils down this

And all we do here is preaching to our own choir and 'they' do too. it will never stop :)

Son, full time job, house to look after, other things I enjoy doing......Who the hell has time for more than one sim? I understand if you're in junior high school, but sheesh.

On another though, I do know some "sim racers" lap for five minutes, then move on to the next one. It's the ADD generation.

You enjoy "other things"? You don't qualify as a sim racer, get out.

I could be wrong but perhaps the OP is just experiencing lack of interest?

I know I felt the same way for awhile but in the end I just realized I was just getting bored. So I took a break, you aren't going to miss anything if you do. With the continuing development style of racing sims today its easier now days to get bored with promises of future concepts and ideas constantly thrown at you than. Say 10 to 15 years ago when we given everything at once and what you got was it. At least it is for me.

I took a few months off, built a new PC, and bought my dream car, now I'm back and it all feels new again.

I run Rfactor 2 and AC, and ASRX a totally underrated and forgotten simulation (previously Arca sim racing), and each sim grabs me right back in regardless of there pros and cons.

Well, Battlefield became a CoD clone instead of trying to differentiate by being less super fast pace (Bad Company 2). Virtua Fighter destroys Tekken. Soul Calibur was the alternative and supplemental game to have. Next :p.

Next Generation is more interested in realistic (realistic graphic) race games like Project Cars and even consoles can have some really great race games on them .. Also realistic gaming is more easier to setup cars compared to Hardcore SIMs. The dedicated SIM drivers left is disappearing.
