ATM, whatever car you take, you can shift with H-Shifter or sequential shifter (or both at same time) in ALL cars AND without using the clutch, whatever you setup manual clutch or not. rFactor2 should be a simulation in all domains, not only tire models. Is there a plan to fix that some day? It's not the most difficult things to implement. Cheers, Seb
I agree. And even if you hold the clutch and downshift, you can easily lock your rear tires. It took me some time to figure out what is different while racing with 1960s - I am used to "prepare" a lower gear while braking and it simply doesn't work properly in rF2 yet.
Another things, if player has setup a h shifter dont allow to shift with sequential if the real car is h gated. And if the real car is seq dont allow to use h shifter, it kilss immersion.
Its been asked a lot before, perhaps its more difficult than it seems, Id sure like (a lot of people too afaik) a proper clutch behaviour.
I personally like having the option to use either H-Shifter/Sequential on any cars. I am reasonably new to PC sim racing, having played GT5 (I still do) for a while now, so I have yet to learn how to heel toe, which would be required to race properly with the H-Shifter. I get why some people want to get the "greatest ultra realistic sim experience", but having the option to use either allows people to use the sim as they wish. The way I see it is, if you don't want the sequential shifter/paddles to interfere with your experience, than disable/unregister them in the controller tab. Or vice versa for the H-Shifter. Plus it is still in beta with so many things yet to be fixed/implemented.
I dont think this is the point. From settings, you can deassign anything you dont want and assign anything that you do. But, even if you have just h-shift and manual clutch, you can still make clutcless changes. You can even change with your foot pressed full at throttle, which isnt at all realistic. Its not a matter of choice, you dont have the choice of realistic car behaviour (try it and youll see what we mean). Thing is, afaik, all sims have the same problem, so I suspect that the issue is a difficult (maybe impossible atm?) one to solve.
I think the OP was pointing out that all these options were all available at the same time and if he has set one then the others should be disabled. Not that others should be denied their use. I would hope that is what he meant anyway,
Ah the subtleties of English, there is a thing called the Royal "we" Royalty refer to themselves in the third person, so I thought you were using the "Royal we" LOL did that make sense...and we have highjacked another thread Sorry OP
There were like 5 threads about this already. Yes, we still need it though. I'm too wondering why gearboxes in general receive so little attention in all sims
Highjack is proper for the ninja guys (us?) (dont worry, they havent screamed on us yet) Btw, are you a member of the Royalty? My humble respects sir!!!
And I'll ruin it for you both He said gearboxes will be reworked and be more detailed. Nothing more specific though. Maybe I don't remember it exactly though .
I dont remember Tim saying this, anyway I think its hardware related problem, I hope he could clear this.
