VR Simhub dash - Oculus Rift

Hi All

So with the introduction of Oculus beta 2.0 you can now pin windows into VR.

This to me is a massive step and exactly what RF2 vr needed.

I've put together a quick video demoing setting it up, it's pretty late at night here so production value is pretty shite :) but you get the idea.

Enjoy!!!

This looks great thanks very much for your work :)

One question, can you add a 'FFB Clipping' bar next to the Throttle/Brake inputs please? I'm not sure of the complexities of doing such a thing if it's even possible at all but had to ask! Thanks.

"Oh hi Marc" (you must get that a lot now, understand if you have no clue what I am referring too.)

I'll have a look and see if it can be done, will add it for sure if it's possible.

Cheers.

Wow, will take a look at that. Thanks for the info and the video.
Will it affect performance?
It didn't seem to, I didn't notice any slow downs but I haven't tested with the performance overlay on (that thing is a pain) I assume it will have some impact but it seems to be minimal.

HI, shawn. It´s impossible for me to do that. I have a trouble with multi monitor, and di don´t know how to solve it. Could you please tell me what is your nvidia configuration with monitors? Do you hace 1 or 2 monitors plus oculus? thx mate

Hi mate, replied to your pm.

I have two monitors plus the rift.

I'm finding I need to open up everything on my second monitor before I open up rf2.

But yeah let me know exactly what's not working and I'll see if I can help you out.

Cheers.

Hi @Shawn Jacobs , I can't get the HUD to work. Is it necessary to have two monitors (you seem to have two)?
What would be your steps, if you just had one monitor?

My steps are as following:
I open simhub via Oculus desktop and choose one hud I want. Then I take it out of the desktop projection so that it gets it's own window. Then I start rfactor 2 but I see no hud window. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong here but I can't figure it.

Edit: I forgot to pin these windows, seems to work now!

Cool glad to hear you got it sorted!

Unfortunately I've had to stop using it, it's all good for smaller races but for big online events my computer needs as much spare capacity as possible (can't even run crew chief!)

It's a bit complicated to fiddle everything right but once you get it it works.
However is it possible that switching a dash to transparent won't work with VR? Only the ones which are designed as one block - like yours - - seem to work.
