    Hi
    I tried to upgrade a car in a way that it has no or only very very low downforce. To my surprise, I wasnt able to succeed. I tried to upgrade GT3 typical cars and I allways ended with ~7000N total downforce. What I was able to do was to shift the downforce from front to back, modfiy the balance, but not to get rid of it.

    I used for example the following updates:
    HDV=[FRONTWING]
    HDV=FWLiftParams=(-0.0001,0.0,0.0)
    HDV=FWLiftHeightPlus=(0.0,0.0,0.0)
    HDV=FWNegRakeLift=(0., 0., 0.)
    HDV=FWPosRakeLift=(0., 0., 0.)
    HDV=[REARWING]
    HDV=RWLiftParams=(-0.0001,0.0,0.0)
    HDV=RWLiftHeightPlus=(0.0,0.0,0.0)
    HDV=RWNegRakeLift=(0., 0., 0.)
    HDV=RWPosRakeLift=(0., 0., 0.)
    HDV=[LEFTFENDER]
    HDV=FenderLiftParam=(0.,0.,0.)
    HDV=[RIGHTFENDER]
    HDV=FenderLiftParam=(0.,0.,0.)
    HDV=[BODYAERO]
    HDV=BodyFore=(0., 0.0001, 0.)
    HDV=BodyNegRakeLift=(0., 0., 0.)
    HDV=BodyPosRakeLift=(0., 0., 0.)
    HDV=BrakeDuctLift=(0)
    HDV=RadiatorLift=(0)
    HDV=[DIFFUSER]
    HDV=DiffuserBasePlus=(-0.0001, 0.0, 0., 0.)
    HDV=DiffuserFrontHeightPlus=(0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.1)
    HDV=DiffuserRake=( -0.0, 0.0, 0.0)

    I cant image of more. Downforce should be very very low, yet I get 7000N downforce or more at speeds >270km/h
    Can somebody tell me what else to disable to modify to get rid of downforce, or what is actually still producing downforce?
    Tested with URD GT500 SC4300 (Lexus) and AudiGT3 S397. In both cases the same phenomen

    Thank you
    Stefan

    You need a

    HDV=

    Whenever you change into a different hdv section.

    Like this:

    Code:
    HDV=[FRONTWING]
    HDV=FWLiftParams=(-0.0001,0.0,0.0)
    HDV=FWLiftHeightPlus=(0.0,0.0,0.0)
    HDV=FWNegRakeLift=(0., 0., 0.)
    HDV=FWPosRakeLift=(0., 0., 0.)
    HDV=
    HDV=[REARWING]
    HDV=RWLiftParams=(-0.0001,0.0,0.0)
    HDV=RWLiftHeightPlus=(0.0,0.0,0.0)
    HDV=RWNegRakeLift=(0., 0., 0.)
    HDV=RWPosRakeLift=(0., 0., 0.)
    HDV=
    HDV=[LEFTFENDER]
    HDV=FenderLiftParam=(0.,0.,0.)
    HDV=
    HDV=[RIGHTFENDER]
    HDV=FenderLiftParam=(0.,0.,0.)
    HDV=
    HDV=[BODYAERO]
    HDV=BodyFore=(0., 0.0001, 0.)
    HDV=BodyNegRakeLift=(0., 0., 0.)
    HDV=BodyPosRakeLift=(0., 0., 0.)
    HDV=BrakeDuctLift=(0)
    HDV=RadiatorLift=(0)
    HDV=
    HDV=[DIFFUSER]
    HDV=DiffuserBasePlus=(-0.0001, 0.0, 0., 0.)
    HDV=DiffuserFrontHeightPlus=(0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.1)
    HDV=DiffuserRake=( -0.0, 0.0, 0.0)

    Really? Thx. I found no real offical documentation, sadly. No complete description. The skipbarber hdv uses outdated tags.

    Sometimes I found an "instance=XYZ" tag in some upgrade.ini, outside of variable scope - Can you tell me the intention of this?

    Edit: the fix reduced forced to <4000N now- Less but still some high downforce happens?

    Maaaaaaaaate! :p

    This is rFactor (2) - you gotta read between the lines.

    Skip barber has this:

    Code:
        HDV=[General]
        HDV=Notes="Slicks Recommended Cold Pressure Front: 24 PSI, Rear: 26 PSI (Hot Front: 30 PSI, Rear: 32 PSI) 60km/h=~3690RPM in 1st.ÿTreaded Recommended Cold Pressure Front: 32 PSI, Rear: 34 PSI (Hot Front: 36 PSI, Rear: 38 PSI) 60km/h=~3600RPM in 1st."
        HDV=TireBrand=SkipBarber_National.tbc
        //HDV=FrontTireCompoundSpecial=(0,"205/50 R15",,)
        //HDV=FrontTireCompoundSpecial=(1,"195/55 R15",,)
        HDV=
        HDV=[CONTROLS]
        HDV=RearBrakeSetting=24
        HDV=
        HDV=[FRONTLEFT]
        HDV=PressureSetting=16
        HDV=
        HDV=[FRONTRIGHT]
        HDV=PressureSetting=16
        HDV=
        HDV=[REARLEFT]
        HDV=PressureSetting=24
        HDV=
        HDV=[REARRIGHT]
        HDV=PressureSetting=24
        HDV=

    Which means - obviously - that you need the clear line between sections.

    Don't worry, I am joking!

    From the same file, there's an instance of an Instance (yep, I just did that):

    Code:
    UpgradeType="Visor Mod"
    {
      Instance="VISOR"
      UpgradeLevel="NO VISOR"
      {
        Description="Clear Helmet View"
        GEN=<VISORMOD>=no_visor.gmt
      }

      UpgradeLevel="VISOR MOD"
      {
        Description="Helmet View Through Visor"
        GEN=<VISORMOD>=visor_cam_OW.gmt
      }
    }

    If you look in the .gen file you can see there's an Instance=VISOR in there. That tells it what you're modifying.

    @Stefan_L_01 in your example there are many
    Code:
    (0., 0., 0.)
    instead of 0.0 or just 0, might be the reason of the issue.

    So the proper one have to be
    Code:
    (0.0, 0.0, 0.0)
    or
    Code:
    (0, 0, 0)

    @TheRubber I agree with you in an aesthetic sense (0., is extremely prone to error), but it should be fine. The game will parse by the commas, and 0. will evaluate to 0.0 without issue.

    Ha stupid me. the hdv above was a copy from the A8 sample, but in the lexus I had a typo, DIFFUSOR instead of DIFFUSER - no wonder it did not work. Now it does. Case closed. Thx
