I'm trying to download rFactor2_Unstable_767.exe from the mediafire link provided but at the current download rate it's going to take 4.5 hours for 305MB. I'm on a 120Mbps cable connection so 305MB should take less than 30 seconds.

Anyone else finding the download is really slow?

Thanks Tuttle, I wonder what's going on with mediafire.

I've just done a speed test (whilst the download is still running) and that worked well..

Turns out I've had the upgrade to 160Mbps that I've been waiting for. :)

The 767 download is now saying 5 hours to completion, I'll try stopping it and starting it again.

    Edit:

Well, that didn't help, 6 hours now! :(

    Edit2:

Logged into a server on another ISP via Remote Desktop, downloading there is quicker but still not great, 12 minutes or so on a 100Mbit connection. Oh well, that's better than 6 hours!

Sounds like your ISP it's throttling the MF connection or something goes wrong with your ISP routing the MF server.

    Yeah, sounds like.

All is not sweetness and light after downloading it on the server... 'rFactor2_Unstable_767.exe is malicious and Chrome has blocked it'. It's a message that I should give up and get on with real work methinks!

Rename the file to rFactor2_Unstable_767.exe, it'll work then. I've been having that problem with Chrome as well.

This is a very stupid feature. Now, if you want your software to be tagged as safe you have to send an official request to Google to crawl the host/site...

The entire system it's not based on file scanning....it is based on "learning analysis" by Google. If you are unknown, you're tagged as potential malicious.

You can also turn the feature off.

Yeah, very annoying. Oh well, at least it can be turned off. I re-downloaded on the server then downloaded from there to my main PC, at last I have the 767 installer. :)

Thanks, I should have tried that before I downloaded it again. Oh well, all sorted now.

I had the malicious thing too, I needed to turn off the pishing thing off in Chrome.
Speed was ok when I did it last night. I'm on Virgin Media too.
