Just took g6 for a spin in 70Glen and Jarama79: quality was pretty good, I would accept them both. Not sure if Jarama would be the best track for these cars because it was mostly 1st and 2nd gear If people want to go hardcore and consider Nordschlife etc. then Lienz should be on the list too... other tracks: +1 for TWS and Putnam Park. Also Topeka and Searspoint are interesting options.
Well, then we should include at least Watkins Glen? I know my F1 league (SR4L) raced it with F2's last year so it's good enough for leauge races... I agree that Jarama seem to be a bit too twitchy for these cars... tire temps could become a problem
Sorry I forget to mention Jarama might be too busy. Drop it for sure. Got enough first and second gear for a lifetime in just one lap of targa
You're right, I didn't forget Spa. But I also understand it is mandatory for any historic championship. I also just haven't run it yet with Howstons and the other tracks I have.
Full transparency, there is also croft which T70s ran on also. Edit - And Imola and possibly others too if you are interested I created a full list of where these guys ran and can dig it up.... Edit 2 - May also want to save a space for Symmons Plains...
Since I mentioned Symmons Plains I should also point out that, while a fun layout, FPS is inadequate, even at low settings. Also just FYI, other historic tracks Lola's raced at are Hockenheim and Laguna Seca although I wouldn't recommend Laguna Seca because mesh needs updating.
Final days of voting. Soon we can open sign ups. Give your vote if you haven't already! Those who voted "something else", could you tell me what that would be?
Just FYI. After additional testing, here are the tracks I have settled on for my races. So if considering my input please disregard previous lists: Nurburg GP TX Silverstone Sebring Snetterton Zolder Topeka Portugal Sears Point Aintree
I haven't tried Zolder, I thought that there is only dev mode version of it... Aintree was pretty bumpy with f179 cars so I have to try it with other cars. Portugal is far from my favourite track Others I accept I have over 100 fps in Symmons plains (new 0.9 Beta) also so wouldn't mind trying that too but I have understood that it's heavier than Silverstone so maybe not so good for all. ( I also have some 1.0 version installed but I haven't tried that one) and if Howston is chosen, then we would have to consider classic tracks we have...
It's not fully decided yet but these are the options: 1) 1 hour practice, 15 min qualification, 5 min warm up and 40 min race. or 2) 45 min practice, 15 min qualification, 5 min warm-up, race1- 20 (or 25) mins, race2 (reversed grid)- 20 (or 25) mins We could also use both of these options depending on track. But races will be time limited (I need to know how long the whole thing will last, no time to test how many laps equals to 20/25/40 mins)
Just remembered this: Daylight saving time will end in Finland on 27th of October, timezone will change from UTC+3 to UTC+2--> this means that our starting time is supposed to be 18:00 UTC/GMT (20:00 my local time as were the original time due to different time difference). Is this ok to everybody? We can stick to original UTC time if it's "no no" for many? Atm I have updated our webpage with this info...
I vote for this config (25min). Houston is already a winner. You could make one thread to decide the track list.
Tally so far: Does not include TIG because mostly confirming acceptable options, etc. Sebring 2 Snetterton 2 Silverstone 2 OH 2 (I did not vote for Ohio b/c, while not as bad as Jarama, I don't leave 2nd gear for much of the track) Longford 1 Kyalami 1 Longford 1 Brianza 10K 1 Spa 1 Nords 1 Watkins 1 "Street circuit" 1 Nurburg GP 1 TX 3.0 1 Zolder 1 Topeka 1 Sears Point 1 Portugal 0 (= 2 + -2) I forgot I can no longer trust head motion plugin so this track is now too bumpy for me. I will still race it no problem but I have to give it a -1 from me. Aintree 0 I am cancelling this track on my server b/c I can no longer trust head motion plugin. Palm Beach -2 Jarama -2 Zolder is availble here --> http://www.rsrf.de/#/rf2-tracks/4/ You are correct, though, there is also a WIP version of Zolder from a different person.
I can open a poll thread for tracks tonight. This won't delay the opening of sign ups which will officially take place this Saturday. (you can already sign up in our webpage: usr.simresults.net)
