Got a weird one on an RF1 car I’m converting. I’d completed the conversion and the car was feeling great but then I drove it at Le Mans and soon as I hit 265kmh, the front tyres start vibrating like crazy, the centre of the tyres heats up quickly and they lose grip. Slow back below 265kmh and they stop vibrating. If I continue with the lap and over heat them again, they won’t cool back down and the temperature doesn’t stop climbing, even when stopped. The TGM files are from a similar car which doesn’t have this issue. Anyone know what’s going on?
So I solved this by changing the mass and inertia figures in the chassis file for all four wheels. I cut and paste the numbers from another car. I don’t know if it was the mass or inertia adjustment that fixed it as I changed both at the same time. The mass was 30/35 dropped to 20/25. I can’t remember the old inertia figures but they were quite low.
