We have a rf2 server running on a fibre connection with a fixed ip address. We want to have another machine running running on the same connection. We currently have 44297, 54297 and 64297 port forwarded to server 1. Obviously we cant have the same ports sent to server 2. If we use different ports for the second server which ones are best to use? I believe you can use any between 1025 and 65535? Why are the main ports 10,000 ports apart? could we have 44297, 44397, 44497 on one machine and 44597, 44697 and 44797 on the second? will people be able to join?
I just changed all the server ports on the 2nd server and made them the same ports +1 as the first server. I have done this twice now so they have ended up: WAN Query Port="44299" // range is 1025 - 65535 WAN Join Port="54299" // range is 1025 - 65535 LAN Query Port="44299" // range is 1025 - 65535 LAN Join Port="54299" // range is 1025 - 65535 HTTP Server Port="64299" // range is 1025 - 65535. Used for file sharing Which port you switch it to isn't important as long as it is in that range and there are no conflicts. Don't over-think it, it's not that hard.
I'm not sure your 'Get Mod' or downloading of skins will work with just a +1 on the Port address. I have a few servers on mine and the port address is +1000 which made the Get Mod feature work. +100 didn't work, hence why I went to 1000. This could be fixed in this build, but I know many people reported (Get Mod not working) as a problem if running more than one server.
Maybe that's the problem I have now. It worked before but since this last build came out the Get Mod feature hasn't been working with 2 servers up. Thanks for the info for all of us.
