TVs can have more latency, and in general won't be as fast as a monitor. A very poorly configured monitor may be worse than a well configured TV, but you should be more in-time with a monitor and that helps reactions and feel.

The important thing is to disable any effects on the monitor (or TV) - smoothing, noise reduction, contrast enhancement, whatever. Turn it all off.

The difference between those things being on and off is noticeable, and will impact your driving.
