I've been struggling to get it to work, but after working through the settings it's now running quite smoothly and useable for racing. If you cant afford VR but want that extra immersion, i can highly recomend it
I know this has been around awhile... just trying to get my head around it... There is a sensor on yr hat, so you turn your head and the perspective rotates onscreen... But of course your EYES have to stay looking FORWARD right? Not a problem, but it this hard to get used to? I really like the idea.
Yes, that's correct. It sounds odd, but once you have it running it's second nature. Also, you can alter the mapping of the head tracker in Open track software to alter the amount of real head turn to whatever you like on screen. It does take a little time to get comfortable with it but it feels completely natural after a while. It's not a substitute for VR, but if you can't afford VR or get motion sickness, this really improves immersion. I use the TrackHat clip+ which is very much like the TrackIR but much cheaper. The kit that includes the PS3 eye camera is just over £50.
I can see how you could get used to that... I think this would be a big help avoiding car contact in races when running a single monitor. Thanks for the info!
Yes, that´s really an alternative as I´m not sure if VR is for me at all! Though you need a really big screen, or better 3 of them!
Ive found head tracking works much better with open wheelers than with tin tops. Had a play with settings again today and got a better result, but still a little stuttery.
Hello everyone can someone help me with setting up head tracking. I am using a software called AItrack allong with opentrack and I don't know how to get head tracking to work in Rfactor 2
