Sync rF2 Forum with rF2 account

Hi there peeps,

For a while I've been noticing the ability to sync your rF2 account with this forum. I'd like to know what the benefits of it are, so I tried to search for an answer without a clear explanation. I found this: http://isiforums.net/f/showthread.php/5980-Sync-Forum?highlight=sync+forum in the italian forum, and even with google translate it isn't completely clear.

So my first question is, what are the benefits of syncing?

Also, if I try to sync, I can see the progress bar on the login page showing Activate > License > Confirm When I try to login on the activate page, I'm getting redirected to my profile, skipping the expected 'License' and 'Confirm' pages.. Why? Or is it momentarily disabled?

I synced up. I can't notice any difference.

 

Read the Max post in the Italian forum and...it's pretty easy. These are the "rF2 sync" benefits;

1)If you are already registered in the forum, with a different nick than the one used during the rF2 purchase process, you'll get the same "racing nickmane" under your forum nickname. Look at the Gjon profile to better understand.

2) Everybody knows you're using a legit copy of rF2.

3) You'll make more easy the online management as will be more clear to admins who you are..

4) You don't take a chance anymore to appear in the forum as "Unknown".

5) You'll get a little rF2 logo (validated user) under your avatar...



Well...I'm a validated user but I can't see any little logo under my avatar...but not a huge problem...

 

You don't see it? Odd... An orange box with an R in it? It's under your location, not under the avatar.

 

Nope, not seeing it either. Mr. Buddhatree should have one but there's nawt.

 

I see it only when I post something.... and only then. If I look at my post later, it's not there.

 

Can you tell me if you see it now?

Do you see the windows logo, the twitter/facebook logo and modding logo for those users who entered those?

 

Tim, italian users are reporting the icon appearing and disappearing. It disappear when a new forum page is loaded, or after a refresh.

The icon, btw, is always visible in the private messenger screen.

It's weird because I see it in every post, every time, and there is no usergroup based code involved...

 

Yes, i too see it everytime, and the common factor of the "non icon bug" looks to be we are moderators/admins.

I can see the 'rFactor2 validated' icons easily enough.

 

Now I can see it...

hehe, it basically gives a little accountability. You're less likely to be pretending to be someone else, unless you've purchased a copy of rFactor2 to do it... It also matches your nickname to your forum username, if they're the same it doesn't show it, if they differ it'll show your nickname. It's nice for leagues, and you guys can decide how you feel about someone who hasn't validated (so maybe never purchased) and is posting saying how they feel about rF2, etc.

 

same here the icon is not always on, would be great if the validation records the hours played

 

I see all icons. I refresh, change page, I see them all the time. I see yours too.
