running build 134 but had this for a long time

no matter what textures i set in game, its always low.

i changed Plr compressed textures setting and mipmapping as this worked for the same issue in rF1 but didnt work rf2

i even deleted the plr file from the rf2 folder and it still ran the game and low res gfx.

what am i doing wrong here!?? its driving me mad

    no i have that off

i can seem to set things to be lower, like if i drive F2 cars and set everything to Low textures then its really basic.

but on high, or full, the outside of the car is still very low res. is the same on the other mods i have (60s, formula masters etc)

its sort of spoiling rf2, as its now running much better than before apart from this

Another thing - there is a bug report that says Player Detail setting = Opponent Detail setting. So if you set Opponent Detail to low and Player Detail to high you will still see your car in low detail.
Also if you didn't already try a clean install.

did clean install, nothing. the bug wasnt affecting this, as it was always low regardless oppo. and also low res track surface too

however, i opened up AMD catalyst and eventually got it to force override in game settings so now its much higher res.

    bit of an update:

after altering reflections in game, the textures reset to low for car and track. could not change the settings.

the solution was to delete the catalyst control centre profile for rF2 and create a new one.

Accidently I pressed "Alt"+M and saw that you can switch mipmapping(bias) on and off on the fly that makes the textures kind of blurry and maybe thats what you are experienced.

build 146 installed, and now the low textures are back and nothing i did previously to make it work properly is helping

here are some settings from my .plr file that i could change to get it to work usually

    Player Detail="3"
Player Texture Override="3" // For player's vehicle textures: -1=use Player Detail, 0-3=override value
    Opponent Detail="3"
Opponent Texture Override="3" // For opponents' vehicle textures: -1=use Opponent Detail, 0-3=override value

    Track Detail="2"
    Groove="1"
    MIP Mapping="0"
    Compressed Textures="0"

normally, altering the compressed tex settings and mipmapping settings to 0 would resolve the issue. (it does on rf1 and used to on rf2)

in catalyst, everything is set to use application settings and textures are set to High Quality
in game vehicle (both player and oppo) are set to full, textures to full.
its as if somewhere the game ignores the .plr, catalyst and the in game settings and does what it pleases.

its very annoying, and it really is starting to wind me up!!

any help would be great, guys.
