Steering Torque Capability

    Moving from 1.0 to 0.276 is likely to be noticeable. A .001 change cannot be felt and I would suspect would not even show in with a data logger.

    I am still waiting for someone to tell me how exactly 0.0 feels different from the default 1.0 -- what should we expect to be different. And then same for 2.0 versus 1.0.

    0.0 should make the low end forces feel very weak and the forces rapidly increase in strength towards the high end. Conversely true for 2.0.

    I think that's possible and a direct drive motor may resolve that (both due to better quality and higher torque output motors and the absence of large transmissions to increase torque output of the motors at the cost of lag, etc).

    I'll try some settings on the weekend. Sounds like moving it to 2.0 could help with my F2 lack of feedback issue. Thanks for the simplified description.

    Has anyone tested these settings with the CSR-E? I am no pro and have almost no time to drive (oh what an excuse...) but would like to hear if somebody did try with a Fanat. wheel. TIA

    I just wanted to get info how and what to change at the Fana wheel (incl. windows/driver settings) and compare to my settings (standard from game). As I am not really driving much I would switch between the 2 files in practice as you discribed above and it would be interesting how a non pro driver "feels the difference".

    Why should this setting affect "standard" customer Fanatec wheels? My GT3RS is nowhere near strong enough that this setting does anything. Maybe the the new CSW-V2 this is another story, i will tell you when i get mine.

    But i will try different settings to see if i feel any difference, which i don't think though...

    I don't even think the new CSW V2 will need to use this setting as it's rated for about 7 Nm

    Your pre-saved controller files don't get changed/updated if/when anything new get's introduced to the game. Only the original controller.ini file gets updated. So you need to make a few copies of the new, up-to-date controller.ini and then edit the lines in those to whatever you have changed from default in your previously saved controller files.

    sorry if this has been explained (can't seem to find a quick definitive answer amongst all the posts) :

    my servo wheel has a peak torque of 15nm

    so do I set the steering torque capability to 15 ???

    +also I have the max torque turned down in the wheel profiler (in windows) as to 70% so maybe best I set the steering torque capability to 10.5 (70% of the 15nm ) ......if you see my logic

    (full peak of 15nm could cause injury I'm sure )

    I think so Adrian but if using only 70% overall strength in your wheel profiler produces a peak torque of 10.5Nm then there's not point in using the setting.

    so ive realized that w/ my g27 i had STM set to a whopping 0.8000 to no effect. is there another setting i need to change for this to activate? deadzone has only been a bit bothersome but as im using rf2 more & more id like to get things set up straight.

    note this used to be very effective before builds prior to (numbernumbernumber) when i assume some other settings were added.
