Id like to try to make a track for rfactor 2
but I need the base knowledge
i dont use max so what kind of file rfactor2 can use? how to use the viewer.
and other info... i found a tutorial about track but they explain about shaders and advanced things
    not how to start
im sure there is other thread that talks about that or other website
can u give me some directions? please

also is there a good website where people share setup? or other stuff?

So you want to run a marathon but you can hardly crawl. Sorry but you will need to learn how to work with 3d software first in order to be build a track. Why don't start with that first.

Ah I didn't pick up on that.

Gmotor tools only support 3dsmax. There is some official documentation though as far as tracks go, but all for 3dsmax.

Gmotor is the engine rFactor is running on :)

You could model in any piece of 3d software and using a format like FBX for example you can export everything into 3dsmax and go from there. If you ask me, don't bother modelling in other software and exporting it to 3dsmax while you can just use 3dsmax to model everything in... saves you a lot of hassle!
