Is anyone aware of anyone working on or releasing a spotter plugin similar to the one for rFactor1 for rFactor2? Or, Has anyone been successful in converting the spotter plugin for rFactor 1 to work in rFactor 2?
The rF2 spotter has not worked right for over 19 months. The spotter's voice is so low it is inaudible inless you turn every other sound down to minimum and turn it up to maximum. That is not acceptable. I think it's fair to say that it is a very low priority for ISI. I'd like to know whether someone has developed a plugin also.
Check this thread here: http://isiforums.net/f/showthread.php/12322-Spotter-calling-out-lap-times/page2?highlight=spotter It's not a problem of volumes only. At least this worked for me. Since b198.
Guys, just so we are clear I am asking about the add on Spotter plugin by CarlosMaker for rFactor 1. Not the ISI built in spotter. These are 2 totally different topics.
Yeah I tried all the stuff from the other thread here to get the spotter working, but no dice, it just doesn't work for a lot of us. Let's hope this plugin can fix it.
I cant find it now but i came across a somthing that somone is working on, a voice activated pit crew, you just use voice recognition in a mic to call for a pit stop and ask for tyre type and fuel amount. the vid i saw used the voice of the the pit crew from gtr2, if anyone has played with microsoft FSX and got the fsflyingschool add on it looks like it uses the same thing. cant remember the blokes name doing it but ive seen his avitar pic in these forums for ages, he has whitish hair and beard, and wearing a mc claren race suit.
Sorry, it's a huge pet peeve of mine, but you're talking about speech recognition not voice recognition. The difference is that speech recognition is understanding what is being said while voice recognition is understanding who is saying it. As explained on Wikipedia, 'the term voice recognition[2][3][4] refers to finding the identity of "who" is speaking, rather than what they are saying.' But yes, I do recall someone working on that, but wasn't that over a full year ago?
Again, my apologies, it's just I used to do a lot of speech stuff and it really drove me nuts when people (understandably) mixed up the two XD
