Recently after spending better than a week looking for a simple desk clamp, I took a 'hard' look at the spares situation. The result is not a very good one. Does the absolute lack of spare parts for servicing this new crop of fairly expensive steering wheels concern anyone else? The $200+ G25/27 and Fanatec Porsche line were at the edge of the disposable pricing range, should a failure occur. The new wheels...not so much. With more belt drives and in some cases, bearings, encoders, top-hat switches etc.. why are there no spares available for purchase? I think it's especially important to have this stuff since most wheel suppliers still operate out of Europe...with no B/M outlets here in North America. What happens when the $600+ wheel needs a replacement part out of warranty? Will you simply toss it in the electronic recycling pile like the $200 unit? It'll be a very expensive option if you are forced to ship it off to Europe. Your thoughts......
