This is what an F 3.5 sounds like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BD5h1FcA_4Q

This is what it also sounded like in rFactor2 until v1.2 (Actually my bad I skipped v1.1 as I had lingered on v1.0 the whole time and just installed both updates in a row to v1.2) but now, especially from outside the cockpit, they just... no longer sound like Formula 3.5's. The backfire that occurs at almost every upshift - the trademark of the series' cars - is gone. They sound ore like GP2's more than Formula 3.5's right now. I'd the say only improvement is the random backfiring during downshifts. The rest all went one big large step AWAY from the feel of the Formula 3.5 altogether.

Why have the sounds' realism been downgraded for the series? Did someone slap in the wrong sound set?!

The upshift backfire is prominent around 1m50s in: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BD5h1FcA_4Q#t=1m50s

With the Formula Renault 3.5 it's not only the sound characteristics but the overall quality of the samples used. I already reported this more than a year ago:

Listen from 14 secs on ... Sounds like a very old record with scratches on it. The only response I got from ISI was that I should check my soundcard.
