I'm hoping once you see this you'll know exactly what I'm doing wrong because I certainly don't and it's driving this novice skin maker crazy. I have used 2 different templates, both downloaded directly from ISI.. the Megane and the 370z, the problem exist on both. I am using Photoshop CS4 w/ Nvidia DDS Plugin (I even reinstalled plugin) After making changes I... Turn off the wireframe Flatten the image (though I've skipped this and seen no difference - it isn't mentioned in the how to guide but I did it in rf1) Saved as a DDS ( DXT5 ARGB 8 bpp | interpolated alpha) 2D Texture, Generate MIP maps. Tried placing the dds file in one AND all folders for it's car (for instance... placed it in car #6 folder, car #7 folder etc.) The ghost like shadow of the original ISI #6 default car skin shows up. The skins "work", my artwork appears where it should, it is merely the faint ghost residue that has me confused. As a test I opened a new template file, simply changed one thing and saved it... ghost logos still appear. My Nvidia plugin settings are identical to those shown in the ISI how to guide. I haven't changed any other settings as I would not have a clue what to do there. Perhaps one of them is wrong, but I don't know enough to experiment.
Hi McNolo, The alpha channel is not viewable (unticked) in Photoshop. THANK YOU THANK YOU! I found a box that said save Alpha Channel and that was it!
Alpha Channel Tick Box Fats The tick box is found in the screen after you choose to save as DDS file. Untick to stop ghost skin showing. Sorry I though you replied sayin gyou were able to stop the six showing so I took it you had found the alpha layer turn off option. View attachment 12767
