Hello, I recently found out about this game, and I love to race those 60's race cars. I got some questions before I proceed further. Is it worth buying? I was thinking of buying the lifetime licence. But it is a lot of money. In what state is the beta? can I do races? How is the AI responding? I have a logitech momo force feedback wheel. is it supported? How well will it run on my system? i920 @4.2GHz 12Gb ram, GTX275 1.7Gb ram os: w7 4bit. Are you guys happy with your purchase? or should i wait with buying. Regards.
The GTX275 will be very borderline, I have GTX260 with a Phenom II X4 965 @3.4GHz and with max everything I can get about 50 fps max, sometimes it drops down to below 20. If you upgraded your video card it would run very well. It is definitely worth buying, but just be aware that it is in BETA stage and you might find somethings not working 100%. Most information about bugs and issues can be found in these forums, usually under the release build's thread which Tim posts up for every new update.
thx for the reply, yes i know that it is beta. that won't be a problem. with your specs you get 50max and 20 min. looks like no problem there also. thinking of upgrading to a 570 or 580. but not for now. how are the races? is there a career mode?
I have a quite old computer, a core 2 duo 3.2, 4 gig ram and a Radeon 4850. Yes, i need to reduce the quality, but after 30 seconds i don't notice that it doesn't look as good as it can (it still looks good though!), because this sim gave me back all the fun and excitement about simracing i felt ages ago, playing GPL, something no software has managed to do since then. Bear in mind that it's not a game, it's a simulation, so career modes and such things are not to be found here. This is a pure driving, racing, competing experience, and a damn good one! I can't say if this is for you or not, but for me it's fantastic, and my financial priorities quickly shifted from useful stuff to new computer, three monitors and a proper seat only after a few days. Thank you ISI for this sim awakening (PS: the price for lifetime is about the same as a bog standard console game... I went straight for it as a friend (whose judgement i really trust) recommended rf2.)
good to know. I was also looking for a real simulation. i played the prand prix series back in the days. and loved those. i loved how i could tweak every car setting in grand prix. Is that possible in rfactor2?
Well watched some you tube videos, been reading a lot of stuf about rfactor 2, can not get my mind of those 1960 racing cars... So... Downloading now...
well bought the game, but now i can't log in. it states that i'm missing a licence file. i cannot click the gray login putton in the midle of the simulate screen
thx. that solved the problem. I falowed the instuctions on the website, that dit dont state that i had to reactivate it.
Glad you got it working. Now one more thing: Make sure "hidden files and folders" are visible and go here and save this folder somewhere safe: View attachment 3142 That .rFactor folder contains your activation information. Save it. If your hard drive crashes or you reinstall your OS, you won't have to re-activate if you put that folder back in it's correct location
