what i can do off the bat is add my cars to the list. then worry about adding tracks tomorrow or the weekend
So I did some mod counting and roughly a few hundred cars are gonna be added. Add a couple hundred tracks and.......
just had a look at site cannot see in the rf2 files which mod version or build number the set ups are for that are already there, will this be updated ? i like this think it will take off more when comp system comes and more ppl move to rf2. hope ppl jump on board and support it NOW but some ppl just dont want to share PMSL.
That sounds good. In a former Version of the Site, i did have the Option to enter the Sim and Mod Build Version, as an Information for an uploaded Setup. But i did remove it again, because i can not "force" the User to enter the proper Values for that. So these Infos are kind of senseless in the End. I did make the Site in a Way, that everybody can add new Tracks, Cars and Setups, of course. This has some Advantages, but also some Disadvantages. One of the Disadvantages is, that i can not let the Script check automatically, if the Information that a User has entered, is a correct Information. But what i will do, is to store the Date of the Upload in the Database and show it as an Information. That's better than nothing, isn't it.
date would be great idea. pity ppl just could not input all the info required or not be able to upload.
The Upload Date gets stored and displayed now. I can make it in that Way, that the Users have to fill all Fields, before the Upload Button appears. But as said, i can not control if it is a proper Entry. E.g. with the Build Version of the Sim or a Mod, there is no Chance to automatically check such Things. Yes, sorry, my Fault. During the last Days, i have modified some Things in the main Script, but forgot to adapt the Download Script to these Modifications. It works again now.
I just want to say "Thank you" to the People that did upload Setups already. In the last 2 Months, 42 new Setups were uploaded, that there now are 51 rFactor 2 Setups available. Hopefully these Activities continue. Have a happy new Year all. PS I have updated the Script a little bit, that the Selection Dropdowns now only show Continents, Tracks, Manufacturer and Cars, for that a Setup exists.
Thanks for your efforts, redpag. Haven't used the site yet but have a few setups to wrangle there in the new year.
I see many People visiting the Setup Sharing Site and downloading Setups, but very rarely upload Setups. Is that, because People don't want to share their Setups or do i have to push this Thread once per Week? Or what else can i do, if i can do anything at all, that more People upload their Setups?
I love this project and have uploaded a few. I will upload more, I promise. though all the great info like laptime, R/Q, over/under steer etc. I really think these informations should be shown in the list somehow, then it would be easier to find what you're looking for. Edit, just added 5 setups or so.
Thanks for the Suggestion and the Uploads. I will check, if i can put more Info into the Selection Dropdown of the Setups, without to getting it "overloaded" with a bad Overview, because there is no Way to format the Option Entries like in a Table, where you can list the Entries in Columns, to have Values for Lap Times, Session Info, .... directly under each other.
another small suggestion but kinda makes sense. default sorting by manufacturer, gives so much more sense.
I have modified the Setup Dropdown, that it now shows Session, Lap Time, Character, Weather instead of the Setup File Name. Do you mean in the Dropdown for all Setups? If yes, it's just one Click, to sort it by Manufacturer.
I know it's only one click, but makes more sense. Will look at the list later when get to my pc again
People have different Preferences. Some prefer this and some prefer the complete Opposite. And so, in some Cases the Author (me in this Case) has to make the Decision. And for me it makes more Sense to use the Track by default, sorry. But as you can see above, i'm always open for Suggestions.
