Hi all. I've a problem with one mod in particular. It's a 1970's F1 mod. In cockpit view, the seat is so low I can't see out of the cockpit, just the steering wheel and sky. That's with the seat in the highest position. Other people using it said it was fine, so I don't understand it. I think the seat setting on its highest said 100 / 40, so does that mean it should have gone higher, but it wouldn't for me?
Have you tried the shift + fov button combo? It can change the camera tilt i believe and it can make a huge difference. Im not near my rig right now so Im not 100% sure on the button combo but it should be in the button assignment menu iirc.
No I haven't tried that, thanks! The view is so low, its like the camera is placed on the drivers seat. I don't know why you would be given the option to go that low? But I'll try that, thanks.

Doesn't this do the same thing as the in-game head tilt adjuster? Does it actually raise the height that the camera is looking from? It's so low that tilting it up or down would only be looking at the floor of the car, or the sky... But I'll give it a go anyway, thanks.
If other people don't have an issue my guess would be you might have "camera move down" stuck on, as assigning those controls to a key will 'step' the camera in those directions when pressed by some set distance. You could check your control assignments, or take the nuclear option and delete/rename your controller.json file and start from scratch. My plugin linked above uses those same controls, can move the camera anywhere (not just tilt), but could just be covering up your core issue if you use it.
I'll look for the "camera stuck down" thing, thanks. When I went out of multiplayer onto single player, the same problem was there, but I could change the camera to nose and drive it. In multiplayer it was a forced cockpit view so I had no choice. And I don't have a problem on other mods either.
As Lazza mentioned, with his head tilt plugin, you can move the camera anywhere. Up as high as you want, down..ect. as well as tilt. I use it to get the perfect view (for me) on many cars when the seat adjustments don't go far enough.
The all_vehicles.ini file found in \rFactor 2\UserData\player contains all the seat and mirror settings of each car. Delete it (or move it to a safe place). rFactor2 will make a new one the next time you run the software. Worth a shot.
