Samsung SSDs possibly failing.

To all who use Samsung SSDs, there is a possibility of it failing. Watch this video to see if affects you, it explains the reason and the cure if it hasn't happened yet.

 

There is an App called Crystal Disk that will examine your ssd

 

Did you actually watch the video. The recommended App is Samsung Magician which is Samsungs own app which is specifically written for their SSDs, so why would you use a third party app. I use Samsung Magician and it works perfectly, it does a lot more than just examine the SSD.

 

I was on of the "defective" firmware and I updated some days ago. It doesn't magically restore any possible problem that might have been caused until now, but it should prevent them from appearing again.
Thankfully, even with the bugged firmware in my case everything seemd to work normally.

 

Your SSD probably didn't reach the critical point of being read only.

 

Indeed. Samsung Magician stats still report it in good condition, otherwise I would have had to throw it out of the window.
