I liked that part because it meant they were using real race cars they couldn't afford to wreck. They had Lauda's and Hunt's actual cars from the 1976 season and several other classics as well. The car pr0n was awesome.
Don't have the skills to write that, even in my native language I guess, but I have the skills to read and understand it and fully agree all words, great review, and great movie. Edit: BTW do we have a mod with those cars from those years? That make me want to try to drive those beasts...
Mauricio has started one, but it's gone a wee bit quiet lately: http://isiforums.net/f/showthread.php/9300-F1-1976?p=125548&viewfull=1#post125548
Why is there such long delay between cinemas and release of bluray? Or is it normal for all movies today to lure some people into cinemas? The bluray comes on january 28th, that's how much? 4 months later than at cinema or so
omg cinemas are part of our heritage, go out, mingle and see a movie with lots of others. Yes, people should be lured to cinemas, it is not natural to be wired in front of a monitor forever
No! I want to see my movies alone, in front of my monitor! I have noticed that too. It takes forever for movies to be released on DVD/bluray. I think RUSH will be released sometime in early March here... Annoying.
I could be wrong, but didn't it used to take like a year back in the VHS days? Or maybe it just felt so much longer because I was a little kid?...
Yeah, I remember that as a kid, it was one year before the VHS, and 6 month more for the first TV diffusion AFAIK. We wasn't able to check trailers as Internet wasn't there, so we had a TV show each Saturday around midday showing trailers...
Cadwell Park. The pit scenes were filmed at Blackbushe Airport which is not far from me. I went along during filming and wandered around, the "magic of the movies" was evident in some of the cars which were pretty rough and had Ford Zetec engines. More here on PistonHeads. See if you can spot me in the stands I agree with you about the film, it was about as good as I expected, Hollywood has never really made a good film about racing (Grand Prix and Le Mans are the best attempts).
I just felt the racing scenes were not showcasing the tracks enough, everything looked slow and generic. And that dialogue was taken from a high school script or something. I saw that the track was supposed to be Crystal Palace, but it was shot in Caldwell in reality? There's a so-so version for rF2, looks like a nice circuit. Spooky pic. :/ No, it took a long time. I don't know what he's complaining about. No, I meant that Skyfall is one of the biggest offensive turds I've ever seen.
Le Mans is the best racing movie ever (so far) because: Steve McQueen Porsche 917 and other awesome race cars Entire movie takes place at the track Killer racing footage and sound Not weighed down by any sort of plot
