... if you read the whole thread, that's exactly what I said ... Now how I don't have any mod although I installed the game from file downloaded from here? Also, why the game is crashing if there's no mod instead of opening a message box with a little message saying "NO mod installed" or something?
There is no official mod. A mod is used by a server to tie cars and tracks together, so if you try to join a server you need its mod in order to do so (and often you can get it automatically, direct from the server itself). You don't need a mod in order to load Single Player. If rF2 is crashing when you click Single Player you have something else that isn't working.
That's what i thought too, but Tim asked me about my installation. OK, so, no problem with my installation , all games are working except rFactor2 I'm doomed.
There's obviously something wrong, because it's crashing. All I'm saying is you don't need to worry about not having a 'mod' because you don't need one. Not having one doesn't cause a crash (I checked by uninstalling all mine; no problems). I would completely move/rename your existing rF2 folder, install a completely fresh version (probably the lite version as a start), and go from there. If you go the lite installer just put one track and one car in the packages, install them, and see if it works. Don't copy any existing player folder / PLR file etc.
Ok, I am day off today, so I take some time. I uninstalled rFactor2. I also spend 10m in regedit to clean all entry with rFactor2 stuff. I re-installed, the lite version. No track. And now it is working again. Then in installed all track/cars, and still working... I love PCs Now I remember than my first install was on C:\Jeux\rFactor2 and now it's on D:\Jeux\rFactor2, so maybe they were crap remainings in the registry. Thanks Lazza for helping me, I mean, motivate me to test again ISI guys, maybe there's a little bug in the uninstaller? Cheers, Seb
You have components. So when you click components, that is what shows. You don't have any of what we call mods in your folder, so none show. The individual cars and tracks are 'components' in the mod manager.
No, there isn't. Just make sure the files are removed in the filesystem if you're reinstalling. Not that I think you needed to. Your mod manager was working exactly as it was supposed to.
Just to be clear, re-installing didn't solve anything, because I did 2 times with Lite version and Full version with same problem. And Yes I did it when other guy suggest me to. What fixes my problem is to clear the registry for any entry of rFactor2.
