What!? Impossible! When Bellof set that record, part of the track was closed due to repairs. Not sure how much of the track, though.

 

The IndyCar is in internal testing right now. TBH when I saw the previous rf2 Nordschleife Tourist record (6:13.xxx by F. Bou in the Mazda prototype), I thought "well, let's give it a go" and got together a half-way clean lap on ring_tourist version 1.6. I guess the record won't hold up for long as soon as the car is released or until someone tries the FISI there, but for now I'm enjoying my 15 mins of fame, thanks for spotting it

do you see a difference?

Thanks for the info! I've been trying to find this video for some time.

I tried the exact phrase in the YT search. Fastest onboard there, is 6:37.
No Bellof. Oh, correction, this video was done at the same day.

 

yep. no bellof video, as he didn't have a camera in the car, same as ickx. (as bell points out when he overtakes him).
the cameras must have weighted a lot at the time...
people always get confused about the video, it's "Fastest ever RECORDED lap on the Nordschleife"
;-)

It doesn't matter actually what lap has been recorded, since the main question was about the track layout. This video was obviously taken on the same day. So that's good enough for me.

Did you delete yours and Ashes Nordschleife-laptimes on purpose?

 

Yep, they were driven using an internal testing version, so the challenge is up again
