Hi - can I copy and paste my rFactor2 folder from one of my PCs to another for it to work on a second PC? Still having install issues with the GT1 mod on tje second machine.
Yes, you can, will be plug&play if your Userdata folder is included, and don't forget to copy as well the ".rfactor" folder to take your activation with you byyyyyyyye
Copied and pasted the rFactor2 folder over in its entirety -- everything seems installed and everything is now appearing in mod manager. Yet when I launch the dedicated server or try to start the sim I get this message: "No mod files or installed mods found. Unable to continue. Please download at least one mod." I have all the mods installed in a seperate folder called packages and have pointed the mod manager to that, to no avail.
In the Launcher click the Advanced tab and check if the Data Path is correct. Change it if necessary.
just to add mate (in case you didnt know)...dont waste an activation on that pc if your only going to use it as a dedicated server as its not required...just start your room with the dedicated.exe in your core folder
That is true but if you don't activate you can't use Laucher to update to the next build (you must do a full install, or full copy from some other computer where you activated). But since both PCs are on your network it is probably not an issue for you C3PO.
Thanks guys -- it did the trick Now a server is up . One more question: how do I get it to load an add-on track for the dedicated server?
you have to create a vmod to link the car and track together and then pass that to anyone that wants to join your room, theres tutorials and the like in the modding section...a ridiculous system to stop mismatches that hasnt worked but we have to live with.
True, Abriel; in fact when I suggested to copy the activation folder, I was thinking about copying to the same computer; my mistake byyyyyyyyye
I cannot get to the folder to delete it -- and if I do a search for the file name nothing appears!!??
Why you can't get to the folder? You don't see it or you get access denied? If you can't see it enable hidden/system folder view or just enter the path as it is shown in the message.
