Same problem here , started OK but slow , installed the 60's update quite to see why the Brianza track wasn't showing up and now it wont start in all 3 modes and also can't start Manage Modes
Think I will just uninstall the lot and start again from scratch .

We are not getting any help from ISI, cause they think that's our fault that the game isn't working. They think we haven't installed and updated all mods.. I have started installing this from scratch about 10 times already and nothing seems to help.

I uninstalled and deleted all the folders except Packages and .rfactor when reinstalled using the full install , then installed and updated all the mod's , it all seems to be working now , but the cars now seem to be very unpredictable and no fun to drive just never know what direction it's going to go , just driving the Spark F1 down a straight at Spar its hard to stay on track , brake early and very gently for a turn and its just random how the car reacts .

I can't even launch the game now. Clean install, with all updates.

I uninstalled the game because there wasn't a .exe from build 85 to 90, so I installed the full 90 build and then reinstalled all of the updates. I may have something to do with not having the All tracks and Cars file installed which I can't seem to find in the latest release notes or links.

Trouble is I didn't make a back up of those files, my bad.:(

If you don't delete the rFactor2 folder in Documents when you uninstall, then for some reason, "all cars and tracks" disappears and doesn't get reinstalled. It's has happened to me in build 85.

You need to uninstall and delete the rFactor2 folder in Documents.

Then install full build 90 and all the ISI mods and updates. That should fix it :)

    Try?
I just wish I could DL what I paid for since the previous one only looks out the back of the car.

silly question, did u by any chance skipped installing all versions of mods?
because they should be. They should all be installed in packages folder

I had a big problem installing build 85 because I uninstalled previous build without erasing manually packages folder.
I had installed in there non ISI mods and when I tried to install new build there is a conflict.
So if you make new install, erase packages folder.
If u just update and dont make new install u dont have to erase it.

Thanks buddhatree, worked like a charm, just wish they had fixed the mirrors on the 60's cars, but hey that's why they call it a beta, lol.

I have installed all the updates and before installing build 90 with the full installer, I deleted packages folder and all the other stuff from my documents.

    Hi there!

Same issue here with a brand new install on a brand new PC... Browsed the forum and tried everythin suggested and nothing works. As soon as I click on one of the menus (Single Player, Online Race or Developer) I get the dreaded error message "rFactor2 has stopped working".

Tried uninstalling the game, deleting the rFactor2 folder in my Documents library, reinstalling but nothing helped.

Should build 90 work without any mods installed? Because even before I start updating the game with all the mods (in the "right" order as detailed here) I get the error.

Like I said I have a new PC with Windows 7 Professional 64-bit installed. It works perfectly and all applications/games thus far are working (Call of Duty 4, Battlefield 3, Project Cars) and all my drivers are up to date.

    Brief PC Spec:

    Asus P9X79
    Intel-i7-3820
    Kingston DDR3 1600mhz 4x4Gb
    EVGA GTX 680SC
    Creative Titan Fatal1ty Pro
    OCZ Agility 120Gb SSD HD

Willing to try anything here so feel free to suggest some troubleshooting steps!

    Hi guys,

Wrote a long winded post yesterday about this but I guess the Moderator didn't have time to approve it yet...

Anyway, had the same issue and tried everything mentioned in the different threads. In the end I decided to uninstall the game (and delete the rFactor2 folder in my Documents library) and instead of installing it again in:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\rFactor2

    I installed it in:

    C:\Games\rFactor2

And now everything works and I no longer have this "rFactor2 has stopped working" when I launch "Single Player" or "Online race" or "Developer"!

    Give it a try! ;o)
