If you are not familar with CMS, we are one of the longest running sim racing leagues on the internet, established in 1999, and a large community of great people which makes it work very well. Get ready… it's going to be a Formula Frenzy! Our upcoming Fun Series will be filled with opportunities to try out 3 different open wheelers using rFactor 2. For our first race at Lime Rock we will be matching our wits against the temperamental Skip Barber Trainer (National). Can you handle this beast? Our next 4 races will all be in the Formula 2, giving us plenty of time to get acquainted with these fun open wheelers. For our Series Finale we will jump into the Formula Renault 3.5 for a 45 minute race in Malaysia. Who's It For? The Fun Series is for anyone who's got a Tuesday evening free but doesn't have time to practice or prepare for yet another league race. There are no points scored in the Fun Series so you can use this opportunity to try out rFactor 2 and some of it's available mods and tracks. If that isn't tempting enough, it's also a great opportunity to get to know some more of your fellow CMS racers and just have a good time. When Is It? The Fun Series is held on every other Tuesday evening beginning January 8th. Jan. 8th -- Skip Barber Trainer @ Lime Rock Jan. 22th -- F2 @ Montreal Feb. 5th -- F2 @ Toban Feb. 19th -- F2 @ Long Beach Mar. 5th -- F2 @ Portugal Mar. 19th -- FR 3.5 @ Malaysia Practice = 8:30 pm CST (-6 GMT) Qualy = 9:00 pm CST (15 minutes) (-6 GMT) Race =9:20 pm CST (30 minutes*) (-6 GMT) *Season Finale at Malaysia will be 45 minutes in length. Server/Race Settings Distance = 30 minutes* Start = Standing Damage = 50% Aids = Traction Control, ABS Flags = Black Only Fuel / Tire Usage = Normal Pit Stops = Not Required Custom Skins = Not Allowed, choose game default. Server Name = CMS Fun Series Password Teamspeak Remember, the Fun Series is about Fun! As such, many of us tend to get chatty and use Teamspeak to communicate before and during the race. It's a great way to get to know your fellow racers and keep it light. Teamspeak 3.0 Download and Settings Teamspeak Password What Do I Need To Participate? The following files are required to participate in this Fun Series Sim - rFactor 2, Build 134 Cars - ISI Skip Barber Formula 2000 v 1.0 Mod - ISI FIA Formula Two Williams JPH1B v 1.0 Mod - ISI Formula Renault 3.5 & Update v1.1 & Update v1.2 See below for tips on appling updates. Tracks - Montreal - Toban Long v 0.51 - Long Beach 2011 v 0.9 - Portugal comes with Formula Renault - Malaysia comes with Formula Renault - Lime Rock comes with Skip Barber CMS Server Mod - CMS Fun Series rfMod Tips On Installing: Start by installing the latest version of rFactor 2, currently v. 134. After placing the cars, tracks and rfMod in your Packages folder open Manage Mods from rFactor 2's start screen. Click Options and un-tick Show Mods Only. You will now see all files that are in your Packages folder, your newly downloaded files must now be "installed". Right click on each new car and track and click Install. If the track or car has an asterisk beside the name, an update is available. Be sure to update the Formula Renault to v 1.2 if this is your first install. Updates are also installed by right clicking. Once installation of the cars and tracks are complete you may then install the CMS Fun Series rfMod. Successful installation of rfMod's are dependent on having all required components (cars/tracks) already installed.
