    Hi

Bought the lifetime for $50.99 a couple of days ago

I have downloaded all basic content from here http://rfactor.net/web/rf2/rf2dl/

I also downloaded a delta thingy and was wondering if there are any essential mods (Cars, Tracks etc etc ) that everyone is using and that is considered must have for rF2 that I should get ?

    I appreciate any help

    THANKS

You do not have to download from site.

    Open the launcher
    Click 2nd icon down "Content"
Click on " Remote Content "
Highlight all content and click "download and install"

    Then go have a smoke, dinner........whatever ;)

That has got to be better then clicking 40 links............

Latest "Remote Content" is Gotham Hills v1.00

Wow -Thanks didn't know that !
Have to check it when I come home !
I clicked the "Third Party Mods" button and downloaded the Monza track although it's called something else here

I guess that the mods under the "Third Party Mods" button are additional content that isn't found under "Remote Content" ?

    Thanks again !

I realize it was a little late for you ( 40 clicks ) but will help anyone else reads. ;)

Now you have all content what are you going to do, offline, online, bit of both I hope.

If you a offliner the next great thing about rF2 is Mas2.
Rather then use the "all cars and tracks" you can make your own personalized mods in a few clicks.
If you add your name into the info. box it will make a sub section in Series with same name.
Or you could use to make different classes even by track type. ( whatever you name author it will be)

You can add / omit any cars, numbers/skins and track layouts you like.

Good thing about this you will find each mod you make that the tracks retain room settings, weather, realroad etc .... where as with "all cars tracks" it will be the last settings you ran.

You can also make a mod and start a dedicated server with no ports needed and use it for offline only.
That way you can swap cars while you are in the pits which is unique in any sim I can think of.

It will also save lap times for multiple cars.
So you can start a room with 25 different make of cars in a mod and drive everyone without shutting the room and every time you get back in each car you will see your lap times.

    That is pretty neat

    100 other good things. lol

Well I probably start of with the offline mode and work my way up !

Mas2 ? Do I have it or should I download it somewhere and what is it ?

What is the best recourse for cars and tracks for rF2 ?

No it is part of rF2

    DRIVE:\rFactor2\Support\Tools\MAS2.exe

There is a great thread with pics on making a mod ( if I could find it :) ) ... its very easy and like I said gives rF2 a personalized feel.

You can add your own images for the series icons as well is a nice touch.

Mod Manager is another great shortcut, I think you have a icon for that.

    DRIVE:\rFactor2\Bin32\ModMgr.exe

It more or less replicates "Local Content" in Launcher but I rather like using it.

Here you can see another advantage to rF2 where I use multiple Package folders to
divide the content. ( see lower right corner )

This way lists are shorter and easier to navigate for me.
Save space on a expensive SSD, etc.

The only thing you must remember with multi packages is before you download
from the Launcher make sure the package location is set to the correct one.

I know which means I can't download a car and track at the same time but after
you get all content that will be a rare occurrence anyway.
