rf2 crash on startup (StackHash_b4ee)

    After new os install, i get this error after rf2 crashes. it never gets to the ui, the crash happens immediately after launching (single player) game from launcher (for the first time after new os install).

    Are you running DX11? Are you running any plug-ins?

    i found the reason. rivatuner statistic server (v.6.5.0) and it's OSD was causing the crash.
    downloaded new afterburner (beta12) and the rivatuner that came with it doesnt crash the game and osd works too.

    thanks for mod for quick reply. and yes im using dx11 for the record if anyone else encounters this problem.

    A friend of mine had the same problem with rivatuner, we don't know exactly what caused it, because stopped working from nothing. Maybe a windows 10 update. In my case (windows 7) rivatuner still working.

    in my previous OS install (W7), the same GAME version and the same 6.5.0 version of RTSS worked fine. Only thing that has changed is STEAM version. Therefor i would blame steam for the problem rather, not rf2.

    i still installed W7, i use 10 for work and dont want that shit to my personal PC :D

    the StackHash_b4ee error relates to Data Execution Prevention (DEP) and while i was searching solution to the problem i found that some people have had the same issue even with steams own overlay, and disabling that cured it for them. that lead me to trying out starting the game without rivatuner and it worked :)

    that rivatuner version 6.5.0 comes with the latest stable afterburner and might become a problem to people in the future.

    i have no real idea (just a hunch) why the latest beta version of rtss that comes with afterburner beta 12 works.

    could have something to do with the latest NET.Frameworks or visual c++ runtimes that i installed (all of them!) trying to solve another problem in another game, but it turned out to be windows aero bug instead. i have a gut feeling that those were the root cause for the problem initially, and the latest betas of AB and RTSS could handle it.

    im ok if moderators want to delete this thread, but maybe keeping it is a good idea since this has a solution to the problem?
