So, as I'm interested in buying rF2 I downloaded the demo version and thought I'd try and see how it runs on my computer but I ran into this problem of having my FFB reversed. So, how do I fix it? I could not find any solution in demo's options.

    Thanks in advance.

    Go to:
    rfactorfolder\UserData\Player
in there is a "Controller.JSON" Open with notepad.
    "Force Feedback":{
"Steering effects strength":10000, <--------- turn this into negative value.

It is set to -10000 to begin with and I can't change it for some reason. I can, actually, remove that minus mark and save the file but when I start the game demo, it changes it back to -10000. I don't know why.

Go to Options and then Controls.
Either click 'Detect' (not sure if I did that myself) or as I think I did for my Thrustmaster T500 select 'Load' select your wheel from the list, assign whatever buttons etc you want and then save it preferably with a new name, eg H pattern, paddles, what ever you want.

Yes, I have tried that. I have created a controller profile and I can change values in that file but I think that controller.json file in \player folder overrides that controller file I created the way you suggest.

Maybe try editing your file from UserData/Controller

I was sure that selecting the profile that came with the game made the FFB behave correctly.
Old age and memory often clash. :(

    What wheel do you have?

Sounds like rF2 (and yourself) hevn´t full access to Write files.
You should add admin-rights to complete folder (HDD)

Yes, that was what I was explaining. The controller profiles are there, I have created one for my wheel and it does not change this problem.

So you can make changes and save and after that it´s like before??
There´s only ONE explanation: it´s not saved! :)

Yes, it is. I change the file, then close it (notepad). When I open the file again, it is as I saved it. So it is the game(demo) that changes the file back for some reason.

That's what I think .. demo files are protected ... .. ask Tim W if the Demos files are read only and fixed .. But I'd bet they are ..... doesn't rf2 have a return policy?

    I'd Just Buy it ! :D
