Hi, is anybody working on this track or in his conversion? It would be a great track for the F1 92 cars.
5 or 6 versions of this track are about the net, varied in quality though. I think Intel48 has a scratch 2014 version, if you search him here, maybe drop him a pm.
Do a search for Elipsol or something like it. It's not much in quality but if you're just looking for the track to fill that need, then it'll do.
Be aware though that the Clipsal 500 layout is shorter than the F1 Circuit was. 3.2km for Clipsal and 3.7km for F1. Stiill atmospheric though
Cheers Lazza. I really like Adelaide, it`s a pity there`s not a more complete, accurate version out there. Hopefully one will come in the future.
Actually with a bit more thought (it's Friday morning, and I didn't get enough sleep...) I was wrong above - what's missing is the chicane, there weren't any more 90 degree left-right combos. So instead of turning right onto the two-part back straight, they took a left-right chicane of sorts onto a new right turn which led onto a longer back straight. It's all pretty clear if you check out a map of the track.
1:40-1:44 is a great illustration of the difference between watching race cars from track cameras vs actually being inside the things. You've got him fighting nonstop towards the end of braking and turn-in to keep the back end in line, then switch to an external shot where he's just rolling around a corner. People see the external shot and talk about race cars having mountains of grip, but they play a sim and the car's going everywhere so it's not realistic... (and it's not just in those days... when you focus on the steering wheel in modern F1 they're fighting plenty too, but people still don't see it...) Sorry for the OT. Wish they still used that layout, the longer straight makes it a race track for me.
Thanks Brack... Woa! There really is quite a large amount of the track missing. Only (just under I think) half of the Brabham straight for us sim racers. It`s a shame so much of the real track is`nt there for us sim racers... Oh well, guess I`d better learn to build tracks then...
I tried the track last night and I was a bit disappointed. I think the rf1 version from MOD F1 88 was better.
