Post your RF2 car skins here.

Hi all !
No problem Davehenrie, i know the rexy has already done, but i prefer make my own skin... the plan is to realize all the skins of le mans 2023 24h...lot of work but i find some relaxing to paint a car and i'm really satisfy when i can see my car in the game and watch the IA driving...maybe stupid but for me it's cool ;)

also, yes in real life the pink REXY exist and here name is ROXY :p

a pic of the day from le mans with the REXY

Some question today :
- anyone know if it's possible to skin the rear window on the porsche ?
- i need also some explanation for the .json file with the differents parameters...

Cheers :)
.Looking great, its pure joy to race against liveries of your own creation. You notice all the little details.

That looks really delicious. I'm already looking forward to your next painting projects. :)
Thank you for the lovely Christmas calendar, already even in November. A little door (a car) every week. ;)

@Laurent Leceurs Very nice skins lately ...Nice work ;)

You should try to add some "fake" shadows to make them less "flat" and more realistic.
A good example is the "Moyoda" GR010 LMH skin, where we can see the details added with shadows "emphasized".

Not a lot of people add those effects but it really adds realism ... Very "Pro" effect.

Isnt that effect added to the mod itself like an AOspecmask, so it should'nt be necessary to do it on skin level.

Maybe when you set very high grahics settings which most of players probably don't use.

But on my skins and my PC, just a little fake shadow under door latch for example adds a lot o realism and remove the "flat" default.

Between doors and body we should see a litle shadow.
We often only see a deformation but with the same paint and material which is wrong.
Check in Showrom, we all have the high effects i think ...

You are correct, the GTE and GT3 cars and most of the newer cars don't need false shadows. I think when the Oreca was first released it had a layer in the template for false shadows, the Oreca was updated and there no false shadow layer in the latest template. I think the same applied to the Nissan GT500. The only cars I can think of that still need false shadows is the Mak-Corp group-C cars, if I do a skin for these cars I lower the opacity level for the shadows layer, otherwise it looks overdone. I do use the highest settings for shadows in the UI, maybe lower settings don't display the shadows so well. The problem with false shadows it can sometimes look extremely false and overdone and not very realistic. Personally I can't stand using low shadow settings, shadows and reflections bring tracks and cars to life.

Nice to know. I'm very low on shadows, and reflections, that's probably why the skins, even officials looks so flat, and worst at night ...
Adding fake shadows, done very lightly really adds to the realism in my case.
A small touch is still a good idea i think.

when doing skins it's hard to find a showroom with same lightning as a track. The one that I find is most useful is the obsolete silverstone showroom. Unfortunately its only available for those who remembered to save a copy or got it from a friend ;)

And then the silverstone showroom isn't perfect, its too dark on one side.

It would be great if S397 released a new showroom with latest "track lighting" scheme.
