I started collecting references and logos some time earlier before you posted this, but lost progress (not very much though) due to Gimp crashing later that evening. So I felt like this was a sign and didn't get back to it - until now as I was giving it a new chance today. But progress is slow (long time no painting + I'm not really used to the rF2 template yet) and priority is low, so it will still take some time.

Cool. I'm about to go on a week long work trip. So it'll be a couple weeks before I can actually get to it.

Hi guys, today I'm presenting a rF2 conversion of the iconic Kremer "Vaillant" Porsche RSR 3.0 from the year 1975. Last year I made this livery for a German eRacing team on a 2017 RSR in AC. This year the team starts on an endurance league with a 911 GT3-R and they asked me, if I can convert the design to this car.
    ...and here it is!
I've changed two basic things: no GoodYear sticker, because the car is wearing fixed Michelin tires. And I've made the front splitter in Yellow. The original 911 RSR didn't have a splitter but the 1977th 935 looked very nice with this yellow splitter.

Andretti and Andretti, sadly this car survived just a few laps in practice.

Very nice vehicle Frank. Thanks alot. :)

    @Studio 397
It's just a pity that the KI-GT vehicles still do not use custom skins. They appear in the car list and showroom, and you can drive them, but the AI still does not use them when you go to the race. I hope that will be sorted soon, very frustrating.

Did you try to add a AI car manually after you have joined your session?
    1. In the Selection menu go to the "Session Settings" menu and add the opponents class wich contains your skin. Number of AI drivers: 0
    2. Start a session with Practice / Quali / Race
    3. In Practice go to "Standings" and klick on the ARROW! beside "ADD AI".
    4. Select your skin and as many others as you want
    ...and that's it.

The Aston has two window files:
    alt_yourskinWINDSHIELDIN.dds
    alt_yourskinWINDSHIELDOUT.dds

Guys there is a way to 3d paint a car? I'm sure I saw someone here saying he was painting in Blender on a 3D model? Which files do I need for that? I'm coming from AC painting which can be done on a 3d template and is much easier for me, any way to do the same on rF2?

Wich car do you want to paint? Lots of cars (e.g. pay content, enduracers, next generation mod, apex mod) are locked and you can't extract the needed *.gmt files.
If you have an unlocked car, you can extract all files with the MAS File Manager (part of rF2). To convert the extracted files into a readable file format (*.obj, *3ds) you need a 3D editing tool like "3DSIMEDIT". That's it...

It's a mod car, it shouldn't be locked. I mean, I went into Installed folder, I opened the car's folder, opened the car.mas file and extracted a gmt file from there, but there are a lot of gmt, I extracted the one called body_max.

    Do I need 3DSIMED? Can't I use a software like 3DSMax? I already own the latter.

Anyway I can always ask the author if he wants to help me finding the 3d file, I just need it to paint the skin for a league just in case

As I know, there is no file wich can be used directly in 3dSMax. 3DSIMEDIT is the easiest way to convert your gmt file
You can tell me what car it is or send me the *gmt via GoogleDrive or Dropbox and I will see what I can do... (Tomorrow )

Little update, a friend of mine extracted me a 3ds file from that body_max.gmt file. It turned out to be just a part of the entire car (a 2019 spec F1 car without front, rear wings and suspension, just the main body chassis). I extracted an fbx file from the 3ds and painted it in Mudbox, got the 2d scheme and tried in rF2 and it works!!!

Now, how can I get one single 3d model out of those gmt files? Because one contains the main bodywork, another one has just the halo and so on

Thanks Frank. That works really well. :)

That does not make it easy, however, if I have to select each vehicle individually (for example, 40 cars).

The mistake exists since the beginning of this year.

    Hi guys,

Is there a way to get the Aston´s side and rear windows file? It is supposed to be named alt_windowsout.dds and alt_windoesin.dds, but I couldn´t open the main Aston MAS and so I could not get the original DDS files.

    Thanks in advance!
