So just like iRacing has. My pc is 3 meters away where I drive(Playseat+CSRE/CSP front of my tv) and it's very annoying to first use mouse to get driving going and then run to racing seat to drive(even worse are driving games where you are on starting line straight away...). So my big wish is that rF2 would get same kind system like iR already has. iRacers know what I'm trying to say here. Then it's easy to use that choosed button, either from wheel or buttonbox, to start driving.
I had same problem as you. What I can suggest is to but keyboard with touchpad. Logi sells cordless one for example. So you may have second keyboard with pointer controller just next to your playseat.
