So I've had refactor for quite a while now, now for some reason I cannot connect to any online servers. My community has set one up which I have all the DLC for but when I got to click the connect button it remains shaded out and gives no clue to why I cannot connect. Any idea please
Think you should post a screenshot to explain. it could be version differences, but a picture might explain it better.
Sounds a lot like that. If you start rFactor you will see the version (I think) on the lower right corner of the UI - at least you can check it within Steam or in file explorer of Windows. You need to have the same version installed as the dedicated server of your community is running - some people are using last stable version, most the actual version and again some the release candidate. But - as Thomas said: screenshots would be helpful. p.s: very unlikely, but if you have very strict firewall rules (wether with the Windows firewall or an extra one) make sure to allow outbount connections and traffic not only on ports 80 and 443 (which are needed for internet), but also on the rFactor2 ones (need to look them up)
try changing it to list, much more info then. you can change it top left next to "multiplayer" title. Normal there would be a popup showing some sort of error when trying to join it.
Think its these two servers, and version wise they look up to date. Do you run Release candidate? dont know if that could be a problem?
lol havent noticed, didnt see the forest for all the trees, then he needs to choose newer version in steam.
@Nickwa3112 in steam right click on the rfactor2 in your library and change version Image found on google since Im not home to make a screenshot:
