Hi, Is there any historical evidence for the "ramp"/"step" into tabac on the 1960's Monaco?. I've just watched "Grand Prix" again (awesome film) and it is not evident there in 1966. You can clearly see the interface between the tarmac and the concrete but no ramp.
You can see it in this clip from Grand Prix at the end of the video. From the footage it seems to be a little bit smoother, but that is difficult to judge.
This video is from 1970, you can see it still there at about 1:30. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7G6i2ZuM6To 1968: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vPvqyUjhBTI
The ramp in the game seems much more severe. You actually leave the road all forur wheels. That can't be right?
Difficult to see there is a big ramp there, until you look at the fencing on the right side and see the massive difference in angle from the straight preceding it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0DL_oQiThoQ&feature=related
Thanks for your comments Tim but in the video's the ramp is definately smoother and maybe needs some work in the sim for authenticity.
I respectfully disagree. When you brake for the length of time they appear to and go their speed it feels smoother to me.
