Mod Help

hello I'm looking for some help to mod rfactor 2 because it says to put the files in the packages file but I have no packages file so I read some more and it said just make a packages file in the right destinitation (programme files(x86) / steam / steamapps / common / rfactor2 /) so I did that and put the mod package in their then followed the rest of the steps being opening the rfactor 2 launcher and refreshing the list but nothing happens and now knew items come up and I'm really getting frustrated and confused need help

yes i have seen that video it doesn't help me because my packages file isn't there and if i make my own like other threads say too and then put the mod into the file it doesn't come up in the launcher but i have only tried tracks so i am going to try cars and see if that makes a difference

 

You have to create a packages folder if you want to manually install mods tracks and cars. Basically anything not on steam has to be install that way. Have you set the packages folder in mod manager?

 

Just putting it in the packages folder won't do the trick though, you have to install it after putting the mod in the packages folder. The second icon from the top on the left in your launcher screen to do that.

 

yes i have done that and then when i refresh it nothing comes up still kike nothing new it just shows all the tracks and cars that came with the game

 

yes i know but it doesn't come up with what i want to add on the game it just shows all the mods that came with the game and i have changed the destination down the bottom by the way

 

Silly question but the track you're trying is a .rfcmp file not a zip or rar?

 

it is a rar file of gold coast (surfers paradise) also a silly question how long does it take to upload it to steam workshop cause that would make it alot easier for me and i know you can because you did it to barbagllo (great job by the way)

 

You're extracting the contents of the rar file(the rfcmp file) to the packages folder?

 

what do you mean am i supposed to look through the file fore the rfcmp and put that it in the packages folder i just made?

 

Yep.

 

Only the creator should put things on steam. You need to open the rar outside of rfactor using a program like winzip winrar 7zip ect. and put the surfers rfcmp file in your packages then you will see it in the list to install

Go to xfactorracing.com and check the downloads

Also go to http://fvrfactor.com they made surfers.
