Hi everyone. These are my first couple of hours on the game, and while setting up my mirrors after a long FOV setup, I made a mistake. I accidentally hit left_alt + semicolon (coma on the azerty keyboard). The game displayed a "MIP LOD BIAS disabled" and then my mirrors changed. They are useless now and look like a multi parallel universe. Of course hitting the same key or looking for variants didn't work. Any luck someone has already encountered this ? Thanks. Jango
I'm not able to get anything to happen when pressing that key combo. Does pressing 3 a bunch of times fix it?
Post a screen shot of what it looks like. F12 button to take a screen shot. If you need to go back to default mirrors just delete all_vehicles.ini found in \rFactor 2\UserData\player\ The game will make a new one. Feel welcome to back it up first.
Hi folks, thanks for the firt hints, I'll give it a try, provide screenshots and feedback. Thanks again.
Before you start rF2, open the player.JSON File, that is in the Folder ..\rFactor 2\UserData\player with a Text Editor and set the shown Value (bold) to 5 "Texture Sharpening":5, and save the File. Does that help?
ORECA 7 LMP2. I'll try this, but for now I have uninstalled the game and the fresh install refuses to launch, period. So I'll have to deal with this before going further.
I already figured this, because it is the only place where LOD MIP are mentioned. But it was already 5 so no luck.
Well I'm discovering RF2 and really willing to go further, but yeah. First contact is tough, not gonna lie.
Okay so I tried everything, I even re installed the game. But no luck. I'm thinking now of a multi screen or Nvidia Surround problem. I thought the problem happened when I hit that keybinding, but it might not. It might have been there since installation.
At first: to reinstall the Game is not necessary in 99,99999 % of the Cases. I tried to reproduce the Problem with the Mirror and i could do it. The Problem is, that it looks like the left Mirror on your Screenshot in Post #5, when you move the Mirror too far to the right. So you simply have to move it again, to get a normal Mirror back. Use the Ctrl Key + the Keys to move the Seat forwards and backwards and up and down, to get it fixed. Normally that should have been solved by deleting the all_vehicles.ini already, as @DJCruicky had written.
Okay, I understand that. But this is not a fix considering the fact that I HAVE to be in that specific position because I use triple screen. That's the sweet spot for me considering FOV and else. More, the position where the mirrors are displaying correctly is a position where they show me... The ground. I have already been using every combinations of crtl, alt, shift with the move forward, afterward, up and down to set up my view.
If your camera position is moving the mirror views too far to adjust with the various mirror controls, perhaps try setting this to 0 (or 2, maybe) in your player.json: "Moving Rearview":3, "Moving Rearview#":"Whether mirrors respond to head movement in cockpit (0=none, 1=position-only, 2=FOV-only, 3=both) - add 4 if you want to IGNORE head-tracking movement",
